IU vs MD Pre-Game Thread

I'm ready for it! You know what they say...

"You place basketball teams in numerical order based upon their perceived skill level in previous games... We _________________"

Go to their bars and flirt with their dames ?

Get to the picture store and buy 3 nice custom-made frames?

Have a fender-bender, call up state-farm and issue our claims?

camp out by Lake Monroe, get drunk and high, then stare at the flames?

You place basketball teams in numerical order based upon their perceived skill level in previous games... We display to you the reason your categorization system is fundamentally flawed and challenge those claims.

How do you people not know this?

Tickets for the Maryland game are going for as much as $300 on StubHub. IU's student section will be providing pizza and hot chocolate to early arrivals in the general admissions line in expectation of a hefty crowd. There exists an opportunity to change the narrative surrounding this season.

Absolutely not saying this game is anywhere close to the Kentucky game, but this was exactly how the 2011-2012 season played out. Team had some decent wins, people were happy, but there wasn't a ton of hype about the team outside of the fact that we had Zeller. Then, the week of he game, everyone started getting hyped, the students camped out ridiculously early, and there was just this feeling on campus that we were going to win. I'm not on campus anymore, but it sounds as though the student body is finally mobilizing for this game.

The Kentucky game changed that season, and finally solidified the fan base after all the off years. I think this game can do the same to a lesser extent, after a disappointing season and offseason that alienated some fans again.

Needless to say, I'm ridiculously excited for tonight.
