we didnt lose because april played 2 minutes but the game was close until he went with what I considered a insane lineup and it cost us. I like your try to make sense of the situation but I dont agree. If he don't practice hard then leave him on the bench and if u want to see what he had put him in more against cupcakes or when up 30.

I'm just talking specifically, see what he had against Louisville. Montrezl was dunking all over us and it would have been a good opportunity to see if a full bodied 7 footer might be able to help, in that instance, in that game.

The amount of money a coach is paid is not relative to the expectations.

You are right. He should be expected to succeed no matter what the salary.

I would say that at lower levels you tend to have leniency for mistakes but when you take a high profile job with a high salary that leniency goes away. Crean is not at Marquette anymore an I think the expectations at Indiana are higher. In my opinion he needs to raise his game another notch.

I know in some of my comments lately I've probably come across a little harshly about Crean but to be honest I don't want him gone. I like a lot of things he has done with/for the program and in all honesty I think with the right personnel his on court program might work well but...results are all that matters and I really don't feel like he's at the level he should be yet. Hope he progresses.

That...or we're expecting more out of a 3.5 million dollar coach.

I'm not a Crean fan by any stretch of the imagination, but April not being ready to play is not his fault. April wouldn't get minutes on any decent team, he just isn't good enough yet.

While I agree they should get kudos for not playing kids who don't earn it in practice at some point in time I think you have to question someone's ability to judge character if they keep signing those type of players.

Bingo.

If that happens too often, that's when everything falls apart.

Last year, he had the option of playing bad-attitude higher talent, or good attitude lower talent.

He put himself in the position that guaranteed a bad result no matter which option he chose.

Indiana was TERRIBLE when we accepted a verbal from Patterson, Jurkin, Ferrell, Perea, Etherington, Blackmon, Lyles, Hollowell, Zeller, Hartman and Davis.

Who did you, at the time they commited, want us to tell thanks but no thanks?

How much longer do you give Crean to progress and get the right personnel for him?

The amount of money a coach is paid is not relative to the expectations.

So why pay him so much? If there aren't high expectations why even keep score.

Lets just play for the fun of it.Were a basketball school and we need to win at a very high level.
We don't have the resources that the football schools have and to pay a coach that kind of money and not expect excellence both on and of the court is ridiculous.

.We need a winner and 3.5 million ought to buy one.

Coaches pay does have an inherent expectation to it! And it's relative!

Coaches pay correlates to the success of a program as a measuring stick of profits. Winning=profits=coaches pay.

That is where some Indiana fans are disgruntled. We have a top 5/10 paid coach and we (fans) expect top 5-10 results. We are worried the AD doesn't have these same expectations which his why we are voicing our concerns.

April may be a 7 footer but I hardly consider him full- bodied and ready for Division 1 basketball wars with the likes of L'vlle, Duke, Kansas, etc.  By the time Montrezl was done dunking on him, April might have only measured at 6' 4".

Again, Cody should be getting royalties from Crean for signing with us.

I think he should get this year and barring an implosion (either on, or especially off court) he should get next year. I feel the rest of the season is gonna be really interesting as a fan and crucial to Crean as a coach.

Yep---this is a crossroads season...must make the tourney in my opinion or I am ready to pull the plug.

Next year must be top 10ish or I am ready to pull the plug.

He has had the time---now we need to see results.

I still think he can get it done.

I get mad at Coach Crean while watching  the game.  Jump up and down and cuss at the TV and tell him how he should have subbed, or call a better play, or etc etc etc….  We are lucky that we got Coach Crean.  If we can play defense better,  our offense come.  Go HOOSIERS..

We've talked a lot about April---and there was Crean's comment about him needing to play harder.

Does anyone know if he is completely healthy now?

What about Holt?

Both were hobbled earlier---April early in the season and Holt a few games ago.

We need them now with the Hanner injury and I am hoping they are ready to play.
