I dont agree with this mentality just not the way I was raised on ball. I guess when I was growing up people didn't care about your confidence being fragile u had to earn minutes like holt has but I also could see u being right and a better way approaching this situation interesting

I agree with you that this is not the "old school" mentality. Back in the day though, there weren't many players being imported from countries having never touched a basketball before.

Wish we could have someone with Hanner's athleticism who played their whole life. I still want to see Hanner earn his minutes like you said.

I can understand the concern with some of the odd lineups. I actually liked starting Hanner again. Crean is challenging Hanner after watching Holt outplay him. As great as Holt was, we're gonna need HMP to play at a higher level still. Definitely have seen improvement from him in recent games.

I agree.I think tonight CTC showed the squad that if you aren't getting it done someone else will.Stan came in totally out of control and never saw the floor again.Hanner saw a freshman outplaying him, stepped it up and played a nice game.

  He has been slow to use that tactic in the past and I have been critical of Him For It.

Pitt barely beat Samford by 7. Also by Hawaii by 4. Only beat Chaminade by 13. San Diego St drilled em by 17. Pitt absolutely crushed K-State by 23, and they are worse than we are. So nothing here that impresses me. Don't know about you guys.

Not a bit worried about it "blowing up in my face." I wasn't saying that there wasn't some positive things about tonight's win, because there was a few things. Approach is everything and people from both sides just don't get that. I am sure a few people feel the way the op does. Problem is his approach and that is why he will see the responses he did. I would much rather beat 4-2 Pitt than 10-0 Chaminade any day.

Pitt has won 22 games or more for eleven straight years! To say this is a bad Pitt team still means they are pretty darn good. This will be a nice feather in our cap when all is said and done.

We beat a probable tourney team. I think for our resume in March we need as many of these now as we can get.

 

I am excited about the UofL game next week now. We won't shoot as poorly as OSU (hopefully) and our freshman SG isn't a chuck-em like OSU's.*

 

*disclaimer: I didn't watch the whole game, watched the Purdue and NCState game instead. By the way, Haas is a hoss and going to be a pain in the a** the next few years for us I am afraid. All comments about chuck-em (D'Angelo Russel) was based on the 10-20 minutes of game time I watched. Everyone have a nice day!
