Although stars are somewhat meaningful I only take it with a grain of salt. A lot of kids just don't get the same exposure to these scouts for whatever reason. I'm sure in the history of recruiting there have been a lot more successful 4 star kids than 5 star kids in college ball.

i mean, all harmless stuff, but just weird.

For instance walking the hallways during high school and fake screaming into full classrooms with teachers lecturing.... Regularly.

also regularly puts snapchats of him blowing kisses at the camera. Kind of weird

I keep hearing lazy and poor effort from Morgan. I dont like it. Guys, how do you not go 110% when you know your college coach is in the house?

Don't like it, but this young man is a straight 'A' student from a great family. Kids like that absorb the culture they enter, and IU's team culture is currently very much a run hard, hustle play culture. Hartman, Burton, Rojo, Yogi, JB, NickZ, etc will get him squared away in no time.

If he doesn't get the hint initially, Emmitt will beat him down court and dunk on his freshman backside!

He came close on that put back a couple games ago.

About the Morgan thing,I remember always thinking Watford was playing half speed and sleepwalking thru games.

Then at the end I would see where he had 20 and 10.Some kids demeanor can fool you.

Same token I thought the same thing about Smokey Hollowell and was right.

I think Ill wait till he gets here and sees how hard he has to work. That's not Hoosier High school hoops he's playing and he's about 100 times better than everyone else.

I agree  you would think he would be extra fired up last night so that seems odd.

Just got home from the game. Interesting to me that Rabjohns didn't mention that CTC was there. Was actually a pretty painful game to watch. Other than our kids, no one else could play dead.
First thing that leaped out about Juwan is his size. He's a legit 6'8", but he has a huge frame. Thick all over. Will fill out to 250 easily. Average length. Really good footwork. Terrific hands, made several tough catches in traffic. Finished with both hands. Made a couple of threes, but doesn't have much lift on his jumper, so will need space to get it off. Solid handle and made a couple of nice plays off the dribble. Nice timing on blocks. Body language was not good. Seemed frustrated throughout, though it must be tough to play with no talent around him at all. Did not run the court hard a single time and did not make a single hustle play. Really like his skill level, but effort is going to have to get much better to get rotation minutes. His body and game reminded me a lot of David West.
OG is just absurdly long. Full 6'7" but he's got to be every bit of 7'2" or more reach-wise. Got his hands on a ton of passes. Bigger frame than Troy and much longer. Good quickness, particularly laterally, and can really run end to end. Effortless 3 point range. Was making NBA 3's in warm ups with no problem. Really lifts and extends on his shot. Handle needs a lot work. Played almost exclusively on the perimeter. Length made him an absolute defensive menace and it's easy to project him as a big time defender eventually. Loved his demeanor, played hard throughout and never changed expression. Dating myself but the best comp I can come up with is Ricky Calloway. I don't see minutes next year but I can see him just exploding late in his Soph year or as a Junior.

Excellent post! Hoosier Nation EVERYWHERE!!!!

It's not "Cool" to hustle anymore.  Players want to make it look easy and have a swagger.   Not hustling for Crean is a BAD look.  It will be very hard for Crean to TEACH hustle, heart, tenacity, hate-to-lose.  Kid seems super talented though.  The Watford comparison is probably pretty fair.  Watford never quite had the fire that I wish he did (or demonstrated it).  Might be the same type of thing here.  What I hope is when he gets around better players, he'll have to hustle to "keep up" and maybe have other's actions rub off on him.

I'm sure it'll rub off. The first time he hears the crowd go wild for someone diving for a loose ball, he'll get the message. Hustling is part of the culture of Indiana basketball. A lot of high school players don't hustle as much (especially if they are the star of their team).

Disagree re CWat.

The freshman and sophomore CWat was half-asleep far too often.

The senior CWat was fantastic, including his energy level. Especially for someone who was severely "hop-deficient".
