Not sure how he still has a chance at being a top 3 pick.... If I were an NBA exec I would be very cautious especially with the medical prognosis that at best 90% of his former ability and subject to re-injury and residual problems ongoing. That seems like a lot of risk vs reward? I know he was supposed to be good, and he is young so could heal up fine but if I am an exec I want him to show me by playing 1 more season in college.

Scouts will look at potential and he had comparisons to Kevin Durant coming out of high school. Philadelphia took Embid with lots of injury concerns. My guess is if Porter gets cleared someone will surely think he is worth a top 5 pick. I doubt he will want to go back to school b/c if he gets injured again then he's now seen as injury prone and the stock definitely drops.

Sucks for the kid but as far as I'm concerned about Mizzou, I feel karma setting in. They sold their souls and any morals they had to get Porter JR and SR. They still get younger brother and a coach who is willing to play the game. So who knows maybe they still win but the whole thing just rubs me wrong.

Yeah well unfortunately that's the landscape of college athletics and it happens all over the place. Kansas brought on Chalmers father back in the day as did Calipari with Dejuan Wagners dad. Memphis brought on the Lawson twins dad. SMU just brought on a top recruits father. Harbaugh brought in a 2019 QB recruits father.

Selling their souls seems a little dramatic imo.  You know how many coaches wanted Porter Sr. The answer is a LOT. Washington originally got him. A&M really wanted him and apparently there's many more. To me, it's worse hiring a shady assistant coach like a Kenny Johnson who you know is doing something probably against the rules.

Arlington is the type of team that will be a good upset pick in the tourney! All juniors and seniors.

They have 2 go to guys as well. Problem is everyone knows about them so they are not sneaking up on anyone. Depending on how they finish non conference schedule they could get 8 or 9 seed but most likely a 11

Yeah an 11 seems just about right. Wouldn't want to play them. The big guy definitely had NBA potential.

So does Cuonzo bolt(again)? With his history, I could see him voluntarily leaving in his 1st season.

Doubt it. Where is he going to go? He's not a hot commodity. He fit Mizzou b/c he is from St Louis. He never really wanted to be at Cal and Tenn ran him off.

Sort of a poll question ...

I read that Rick Pitino says he's open to coaching again. I'm thinking NBA or D-League or something? I would think he will likely end up with a show-cause penalty for college. So, I'm curious: Who gets a new coaching gig first -- Tom Crean or Rick Pitino?

Tom Crean...

Next Year.

BOTH at the same time (basically).... Next year.

Crean will be a College coach of a low level Power 5 school...

Pitino will coach basically anywhere he wants. I suspect he will be a college coach again, but I think his options are infinite.
