Whoozhers Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 REPORT: Memphis Investigating Conflict-of-Interest Allegations Stemming from Pastner and Athletic Director Sharing Same Agent According to The Commercial Appeal, University of Memphis President M. David Rudd has launched an investigation into conflict-of-interest allegations surrounding basketball coach Josh Pastner, AD Tom Bowen, and the agent that they shared. Rudd issued the following statement today: “The University of Memphis has been made aware of the accusations, and in accordance with University and TBR (Tennessee Board of Regent) policies, will immediately launch a comprehensive investigation. The University is in the process of retaining an outside source to conduct the review. Upon completion, a public statement will be made concerning the findings.”The Commercial Appeal reported that Joey McCutchen’s NextLevel Sports agency represented Bowen while he was athletic director at San Jose State and arranged Bowen’s hiring at the U of M in 2012. Bowen was responsible for negation Pastner’s monster contract back in 2013. The complete article can be found HERE.Hes a good guy and tries to handle these young men but has got his hands full. Besides that, he's WAY in over his head as a head coach. His salary and his $10 million fire walk away deal is ludicrous and should be investigated. Sum Ting Wong..... I suspect. Quote

I mean Laettner has a point to some extent. The amount of abuse college basketball players take at times is astounding. When Redick played there were people with shirts that said "I'm going to name my kid JJ and beat him every day" and signs that said they were going to rape his 11 year-old sister or however old she was. I'm all for creating a hostile environment, but some things just cross the line. Also, I find the concept of hating a player, who is usually 18-22, a little odd. I have a lot of players that I dislike, but I know none of them off the court at all, so I can't honestly say that I hate them. I may root against the team the play for, but I also understand that not everyone is a fan of the teams I support. Sports wouldn't be fun it they were. RBB89 1 Quote

"F*CK YOU JJ!" Chants every game and spotted a sign ESPN accidentally aired one game in college park that read JJ sucks Red D*ck Quote

BlueDevil Posted March 24, 2016 Author Posted March 24, 2016 Whoever takes the Pitt job is accepting mediocrity. Not necessarily. Pitt right now is a middle of the pack team in maybe the best conference in America. It's not like they are a bottom feeder. I think there is some upside to the program. WayneFleekHoosier 1 Quote

I was surprised by that move, but I think he has a child he needs to support. He needs a paycheck whether that's coming from the NBA or Europe KingPG21 1 Quote
