He's taken the same approach at Detroit Mercy -- they start off with 9 straight road games this year.  He knows that he's never going to get an at large bid so he's willing to have his team play tough games until conference to get them ready.

It seems like his teams compete very well in their conference.  I don’t know how many times he has not finished in the top 4 in their conference but he seems to always have his team in the top 4

Honestly a little higher than I thought they would be given how Quad-centric net ratings tend to be.  I think that's a positive for Indiana given that they haven't had any Quad 1 opportunities at this point (although Syracuse should eventually be).

I know early on in his tenure that finished low, but he inherited an empty cupboard.

His son can really play, too.  You have to take the career 39.7% field goal percentage with a grain of salt because over half the shots he takes are threes and he hits at a decent rate (36.1%).  And he's an elite free throw shooter -- 89.4% for his career (on 443 attempts) and 96.6% this year (28 of 29).

Going to be watching the Cuse tonight closely. Cuse only being 8 point dogs seems interesting for a team that "stinks'". Hopefully they pull the upset against Nova.

Have gotten a lot of help from the officiating crew. Kentucky guy elbowed southern player in the back of the head and they called a foul on southern. Southern was up at that point
