He has a $5 million buyout, while the athletic department is facing a $25 million shortfall thanks to COVID. When addressing how the school is able to pay the buyout, this is what the AD said: “Something I've heard out there, that there (was) a donor or were donors who stepped up and said ‘we’ll pay the buyout,’ that did not happen,” Jamie Pollard said. “I don't want that to ever happen at Iowa State. I think that sends a horrible message about how the program is led and managed.” Hmmm ... a not-so-subtle jab at IU and Scott Dolson? Hey Jamie, you know what else sends a terrible message? Forking out 5 mil to buy out a failed coach and covering it by cutting back on services or staff. Maybe getting that 5 mil from someone who could light it on fire without missing it isn’t such a terrible idea. Or, if you want to be a super principled beacon to your colleagues, maybe you don’t fire the Coach. Otherwise, just punt that self-righteousness, please. IUc2016 and Class of '66 Old Fart 2 Quote

Josh Posted March 18, 2021 Posted March 18, 2021 I'm waaaay late in realizing, apologies if it's been discussed somewhere. Why is the tournament Friday - Monday this year when it's always been Thursday - Sunday? Quote
TheWatShot Posted March 18, 2021 Posted March 18, 2021 So Richmond is in the NIT...remember when they got ranked after beating UK, because people thought UK was actually good? Quote

They normally start Tuesday and Wednesday. That pushed everything back Josh 1 Quote
