Howard is an opposing coach and not one of his players. If Howard wants to blow by him yapping about remembering it that's on him. Gard was out of line in thinking he could somehow correct Howard, physical confrontation is crossing the line. Howard grabbing his shirt and striking an assistant was out of line and should result in a lengthy suspension.

I also have a big problem with Badger staffers getting in the face and having words with UM players before Howard did what he did.  These are student athletes and you can’t do that.  There should be serious repercussions for that but it probably won’t happen.  
 

Howard will get his but Wisconsin comes out of this looking the worst to me and Gard trying to be a tough guy and instigating the whole thing while probably getting off the hook makes me sad.

You can call Howard a clown if you want but Gard set this whole thing off by being Gard.

Howard was a clown way before today.   Just further made the case today that he is a clown show coach who’s true colors are showing for everyone to see

Yeah, it just replayed again and Gard's actions scream baiting (go figure) but Howard has to restrain himself.

I mean, it wasn’t just a blow by from Howard. He comes in yelling “I’ll remember that s***” at Gard. If that isn’t instigating this entire thing, I’m not sure what is.

Agree.  At the end Gard is still at center court yapping at UM as they are leaving trying to be Mr. tough guy.  If some want to call Howard a clown well that’s on them but Gard comes out of this looking really bad.

Handshake lines in general are kind of goofy these days. I like the smile and wave and go your separate ways thing that teams have done off and on because of covid. Or just meet up on the court with guys you want to talk to like the NBA does. Getting in an organized handshake line is very outdated.

This may very well end handshake lines in the Big Ten. Just like court storming has ended some rivalry games on campus. The narrative will be "we can't do that anymore because someone will get hurt" instead of saying "man, I wish adults wouldn't act like children." Blaming the handshake line should get Howard past this one.

You can make what you want out of the blow by and what was said and view Howard however you want but you can’t stop Howard and put your hands on the man in the world we live in.  Howard didn’t break stride.  Classic blow by.  Pulled down his mask and said what he said and pulled back up his mask.  Didn’t even look at Gard.

Sure. Gard isn’t innocent. But this isn’t a thing at all if Howard doesn’t act like an idiot before, during, and after the handshake line.
