But you're right they play hard. Both teams do and would crush us the way they are playing today. Loaded Chicken Sandwich 1 Quote

Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Not sure why it would be laughable if someone thought that. If you watched Illinois go to OT with Nicholls earlier in the year and saw them lose at home to Miami or Missouri on a neutral court I would have no problem with someone saying IU was better then them at the time. Clearly Illinois has turned it around and is definitely playing better then IU but not sure why it would be laughable to think otherwise Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app woodenshoemanHoosierfan 1 Quote
JerryYeagley23 Posted February 2, 2020 Posted February 2, 2020 Wow. What a game. I’ve got to stop watching so many IU games, this is great basketball! Ha. Both teams run an offense that looks like it had purpose and a goal with the movement to get the ball to a specific shot/guy on the floor. I’ve been a defender of IU, trying to oppose the negativity by saying how we’re close, and it’s just a tough league. But this game between Iowa/ILL makes me think we actually aren’t a very good basketball team. At least not at running a deliberate offense and executing a scheme. Quote

Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile appIllinois has a brutal stretch of games coming up. This one looks like a loss then they get Sparty and Maryland at home which in my opinion are the 2 best B1G teams then they go on the road to Rutgers and penn St Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Quote

Yeah, I saw it. Started to be some jawing and a little scuffle. The Iowa staff escorted their guys into the tunnel. Left the Illini guys at the scorer’s table waiting to shake hands. I guess a good move to keep it from escalating, but looked bad having the Illinois guys standing there trying to congratulate them in the handshake line with Iowa already in the locker room. Quote
Uspshoosier Posted February 2, 2020 Posted February 2, 2020 Garza is an example of kid ranked around 100 or above that works his tail off and by his junior year is a stud. Legit National Player of the year candidate. Kudos to him and Iowa’s staff on his development Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners woodenshoemanHoosierfan 1 Quote
woodenshoemanHoosierfan Posted February 2, 2020 Posted February 2, 2020 Illinois up 2 at Iowa at the under 8 timeout. This has been a heck of a basketball game. Nine lead changes. Both teams playing like their hair is on fire. I’ve got more respect for the Illini than I did before this game. I felt their schedule had been beneficial and with this five-game stretch starting today against ranked teams they were likely gonna go 1-4 or 0-5. I retract that thought. They play hard and are balanced in the front and back court. Now, they still may go 1-4 because the league is that tough, but they will be a tough out in the tourney at a 5-7 seed. Very fun game to watch. Glad Iowa won. Illinois fans are coming out of the woodwork over here.Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk Quote

JerryYeagley23 Posted February 2, 2020 Posted February 2, 2020 How’s this for a crazy statement on the B1G this year: Michigan, the 12th place team in the conference, is only 3 games out of first place. Just no separation. Almost. 100% chance the B1G title is shared this year. NOLA Hoosier 1 Quote

Yep looked at it again...odd that it was the coaches and not the players. Illinois assistant seemed to instigate it by yelling that is BS because of a dunk when Iowa was up 8 and Illinois was trying to foul at end of game....He was actulaly directing it to the Iowa player who dunked and Fran going by him in handshake line obviously wasn't going to take that and got his team off the court. Bad look by whoever that assistant was. JerryYeagley23 1 Quote
