Class of '66 Old Fart Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 From Zagoria: Alabama freshman point guard Collin Sexton will serve a one-game suspension and miss the team’s season-opener Friday against Memphis but will make his debut on Tuesday.“Collin Sexton will sit out of Friday’s season opener against Memphis to serve a one-game suspension for a violation of NCAA rules,” Alabama AD Greg Byrne said in a statement. “He will be eligible for competition in the team’s home opener on Tuesday versus Lipscomb.”Without Sexton and three injured players — Riley Norris, Braxton Key and Armond Davis — Alabama beat D-II opponent Alabama-Huntsville, 74-65, on Monday night. Popular Post Uspshoosier Posted November 10, 2017 Popular Post Posted November 10, 2017 As we begin a new year of college basketball one of my favorite things to do on this site is follow the games in this thread. I look forward to many discussions during the games with the regulars and hopefully some newer members. Happy opening day eve everyone. While there is no marathon tomorrow there still is some good games to keep an eye on. Texas A&M / West Virginia, Memphis/Alabama, Pitt/Navy, Iowa State/Missouri, Yale/Creighton, Georgia Tech/UCLA. And of course IU/ISU. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners IUsafety, Hutch89, Class of '66 Old Fart and 5 others 8 Quote

Uspshoosier Posted November 11, 2017 Posted November 11, 2017 Caught up on some recorded games. Iowa st is going to struggle this year. Missouri looked pretty solid against them. Texas A&M has a slow start but turned it around against West Virginia. They played without Williams as well so they should be a team to watch in the Sec. Wake lost to Georgia southern Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners WayneFleekHoosier 1 Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted November 11, 2017 Posted November 11, 2017 Clemson basketball player David Skara suspended by NCAA Hours before the Tigers' season opener against Western Carolina on Friday, the NCAA announced that Clemson men’s basketball redshirt-junior David Skara will be suspended for the first nine games of the 2017-18 season. The suspension was handed down due to a violation that occurred while Skara was a student-athlete at Valparaiso University in April 2016 prior to transferring to Clemson and serving a year in residence, according to a press release. “We’re disappointed in the NCAA for withholding David from competition, but we are certainly proud of the way he is handling it,” said Clemson coach Brad Brownell. “We’ll anticipate his return for our game against Florida on Dec. 16.” Skara earned the Tiger Strength award during his first season with the team and Brownell called him Clemson's best defender during the team's media day in October. Stacey Osburn, Director of Public and Media Relations for the NCAA said collegiate sports' governing body made the decision to suspend Skara last month Quote
