Lol.

He would have never done anything with him in the first place if he wasn't "convinced".

Allen needs more time to grow up. He is getting the punishment he deserves. It'll probably end up being a 3 game suspension. No big deal.

That is what I told my dad when he asked how long I thought it was going to be.

Forgot to post this last night: do you know what was the most impressive part of Minnesota's win over Purdue yesterday? They only had 7 turnovers. OT game and they turn it over just 7 times, in a hostile environment where officials have been too scared to call fouls on the home team.

Memo to Crean: turnovers kill. It's so much easier to succeed if you aren't giving up the ball 15 times every game. I wish he'd figure this out, but I know he never will.

I saw that stat during the game.  That's pretty impressive.  Minnesota actually looks like a pretty decent team this year.

Kensucky posts a 2.4 team GPA for the fall semester. I believe that their walk-ons who are kept around for the specific purpose of raising the team GPA are included in that average.
See linky for a stirring discussion by UK fans of why their student athletes don't really need to be students:

Damn, even with people doing the work for them, their grades still suck. They might need to consider finding new test-takers.

Best comment was some poster saying it isn't a third rate school.  They used proper spelling so perhaps pUKe has advanced from clown college to a low level community college?

I still remember on the Scout board a pUKe fan went on there and said "they're here to win games, not win tests".

Maybe Cal still has the number for the guy that took Derrick Rose's ACT for him.  That'd be one test taker.

Someone had to have taken Eric Bledsoe's ACT, so there's two.  We all know there's no way he took his own.

Apparently Antigua wasn't a very good student of Calamari while at pUKe!

Now far be it for me to start unfounded rumors (LOL) but Brian Snow did tweet the following:  "There is one high-major coach who has rumored to be "the guy" for the USF job since the fall. Will be interesting to see how it goes down."

USF announced on Tuesday morning that head coach Orlando Antigua had been fired.

Assistant coach Murry Bartow will take over as the interim head coach.

“After a thorough and deliberate review of our men’s basketball program, a decision has been made to make a head coaching change,” athletic director Mark Harlan said in a statement. “We will continue to provide all the resources and support necessary for our student-athletes and coaching staff to have success. A national search to find our next head coach will commence immediately.”

USF is currently sitting at 6-7 on the season having lost their first two games in AAC play. Leading scorer Jahmal McMurry transferred out of the program last month after playing just three games this season; he was averaging 20.3 points on the year.

Antigua and South Florida were also facing an NCAA investigation into academic fraud issues within the program. Oliver Antigua, Orlando’s brother and a former assistant coach with the program, was fired over the summer in connection to the investigation.

Antigua, a former Kentucky assistant coach, had won just 23 games in two-and-a-half seasons in Tampa.

USF had originally tried to hire Manhattan head coach Steve Masiello to replace Stan Heath, but it was discovered that Masiello had written on his résumé that he had graduated from Kentucky when, in fact, he did not complete his degree.
