Stuhoo Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 Carlton Bragg of KU arrested for domestic violence against a family member. Not only is the crime a huge issue, but since he's from Ohio, I'm curious about his family member's employment while living in central Kansas. Stuhoo Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 Apparently "family member" could include any household member, i.e; live-in girlfriend. That would make this a very bad personal issue for Bragg, but not a KU "his mama got a sweetheart job deal in Kansas" program issue. Napleshoosier and ALASKA HOOSIER 2 Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 Is this kid worth a roster spot at IU. He'd have to sit out a year but would be eligible in Jan. 2018 I believe. St. John’s sophomore Yankuba Sima will transfer from St. John’s. The 6-foot-11 center has been granted his release from the men’s basketball program and has received permission to speak with other NCAA Division I programs. “I want to thank the coaching staff and the administration for all of their support since I arrived at St. John’s,” said Sima. “I enjoyed my experience at St. John’s, but right now I feel it is best for me to explore options that will be a better fit for me as I work toward my goals.” “We wish Yankuba the best of luck,” said head coach Chris Mullin. “I know this wasn’t an easy decision for him, but we respect and understand it. He’s a good basketball player and a good person with a bright future ahead.” Sima chose St. John’s in April 2015 over Louisville and others. Sima started 18 of 24 appearances as a freshman last season, averaging 7.6 points and a team-high 5.9 rebounds per game. The Girona, Spain native ranked second in the Big Esat with 2.5 blocks per contest and his 60 rejections were the ninth-most for a single season in program history. Starting eight of 10 games this season, Sima has a 6.0 scoring average, shooting 44.7 percent (21-47 FG) from the field and 72.0 percent (18-25 FT) at the line to go with 3.5 rebounds per game. Sima set season-highs with 12 points and seven rebounds versus Michigan State on Nov. 23 at the Battle 4 Atlantis. ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote

If he's a culture fit and interested, I would hope we take a look at him. Sucks he'd have to sit out next year though. ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote

HoosierAloha Posted December 10, 2016 Posted December 10, 2016 ^^^The media is great at deflection. He calls the media out and that same media completely misses it. They instead think he is calling Duke out. It's like ESPN can't see their bias because "their conferences" are so far down their throat. IUsafety and Alford Bailey 2 Quote

Fil_Dunfie Posted December 10, 2016 Posted December 10, 2016 I saw St Johns a few times last year and the only impression I recall was Sima seemed like an adequate player, i.e. not much of an impression. IU doesn't have a need for an adequate player unless he's a walk-on to be a body in practice. Quote

We don't need a stud C, although it'd be nice. We need a serviceable backup at the 5, not a tall, skinny stretch 4 frosh playing the 5 or an undersized junior or frosh wing playing the 5. Quote
