The football program needs time. We are the worst power conference team in the history of football. While we have been getting better fan support, the seats clear at halftime whether we are winning or losing. I know, I'm a season ticket holder. I sit second row in the end zone, section 16. The fans need to do better for the players. As far as overall athletics, it wasn't until the post Knight era that they even spent money on the sports programs (facilities, recruiting, etc). We are going to be playing catch up for a while. Just the way it is. Replacing a coach every four or five years hasn't worked out. As far as basketball, we should expect better. However, give the man a couple more seasons. HIs contract is so big, IU would be paying him for years to come. Let's be patient.

I think that IU won't win another bball championship until Bob Knight returns. That probably sounds weird but I think it's the Knight Curse lol. Football is a whole different problem. CKW has the program being competitive at times and his recruiting has been above average for iufb. I wonder what his pitch is to get players to IU tho. Does anyone have an idea? (Just wondering)

Time to be the "downer!" We've had some new posters show up, which is awesome, but a few of these posters have made it clear that they only care to be negative and bash. While we promote a variety of opinions, we will not let it cloud the best Indiana Hoosier forum there is. I understand frustrations, but the Mods here notice when people seem to have an agenda. Stirring up the board will not be tolerated!!!

Please, share your opinions, but don't let it be completely negative. The board will not allow people to be overboard with their opinions because it hurts the board. Thanks!!!

I dont think any of r fans want to sell r soul to win but being competitive and being able to make simple inbound plays would b nice. I also would b happy if when we call a timeout if instead of looking lost and doing something stupid they look like they have a set play and run it effectively

I guess I see where you're coming from, but we have been competitive under Coach Crean, just not last year.  Your point of making a simple inbounds pass and looking lost during a timeout are kind of vague for me.  I really think the whole lack of Coaching out of the Coaching Staff or Crean, in particular, is overrated.

Agree with this...

In 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 seasons I believe we were top 10 in the country in points ATO.  So did coach just forget how to draw up an inbounds play, was it Zeller drawing the plays up, maybe it was coach Cheaney drawing up the plays?  We had a young team last season that did everything it could possibly do wrong to choke against PSU at home and now coach Crean can't draw up a play.  Weird...

For me it is not at all about being competitive.  I want good basketball, and I want an NCAA championship.

they look lost after a timeout they call a timeout and never run a successful play especially during crunch time. They also have monumental problems nonbinding the ball and defending it fir that matter.

Can you read? IU was actually one of the best teams in the country out of timeouts for two years. Coincidentally, we had really good players. Last year we weren't as good out of timeouts, and didn't have many good players. Must be a coincidence.

I gotta agree with Shortpace, the 2011-2013 we were one of the better teams in executing inbounds plays.  Many times it was Christian Watford inbounding and then getting it back or Oldadipo doing the same thing.  It's funny though, in Sports, particularly Indiana basketball, success is forgotten when struggle is more recent.  I know that last year was a dumpster fire, but I'm thinking this has much more to do with talent, or lack there of, rather than a staff that has Coach Crean and two other former Head Coaches at the Division 1 level simply being inept at drawing up plays.  Did they coach a bad game when we beat number 2 Wisconsin?

How dare Glass make Tre Roberson transfer and hurt Nate Sudfeld!

I don't agree with the OP but this is just as naive. Sudfeld just got hurt... What does that have to do with our football team being atrocious to date or our defense giving up 56 points?
