Rick Bozich Watches a 2.5 Hour IUBB Practice!

What if you were Hartman? What if you were Hartman's family? How would you feel then?

If I were Hartman I would think, I better improve if I want PT. If I can't get Good enough it is probably best for me to find a place where I fit. Or maybe I'm happy to just experience it all court side.

It is probably harder on the family who isn't in the practices everyday. The players know where they stand for the most part. The family always thinks their child is better than they actually are. True at all age levels.

We've had barely a week of practice and one person is saying that Burton has had a few good practices and all of a sudden he is in the top 5? I just don't see it. When it really comes down to it would you rather have a player like Hartman or Thomas Bryant? Would it be more important to have senior night or a celebration at Assembly Hall for a Big Ten Championship? Everyone here wants to win, but are we really THAT worried about losing someone like Hartman? Winning takes sacrifices. The bright side of Crean over signing, players have to go out and do WORK. They have to compete or find another place to play. Of course I don't want players being showed the door or anything, but the best players will play and the best players will stay

I must say you are right about OFFICIAL practice starting a week ago or so but what you don't realize is these young men have workouts everyday, minus the days off required. So before you judge put 2 feet in the gym and not on my back. Take what I say with a grain of salt quoting 41 be glad to hear something positive that we are progressing in the right direction no matter what player it is.

IF you are taking offense to my post, thats on you. I didn't say anything negative so don't accuse me of it. I know that they practice daily and have personal workouts. Im just saying that we are a long way from the season...

If I were Hartman, Id better compete my butt off to have a spot on the team. No matter what it is in life, sports, academics, the workplace. If you work hard and and earn your spot, you stick around, if you don't perform, you will likely find the door. Again Im not saying kick him off the team, but if it comes down to keeping one of the bench mob or getting a top 20 recruit like Thomas Bryant, someone would be dumb to keep a bench mob player for dumb reasons like to have senior night. Give me a break

I had a big long post typed out, but it all boils down to this. I get tired of people taking shots at kids. There isn't one person on this message board who doesn't know who's the most talented down to the least talented players are. We don't need names dropped all the time.

No I understand. Im not takign shots at kids, Im just being realistic. If we over sign, some of the players on this years team won't be on next year's squad. I just used Hartman as an example, it could be anyone. I used him as an example, I don't have anything against him so calm your jets.
The thing I don't understand is somehow its okay for people to post negative after negative about April and Priller, but I mentioned Hartman and all of a sudden someone gets offended…funny how that works.

I wasn't nitpicking, I was trying to get him to clarify cause it was one of the most confusing posts I've read on here. He was replying to things without mentioned who or exactly what he was talking about. Sorry for trying to understand what the heck is going on haha

He always does. Never replies without the need for a National Treasure deciphering handbook.

Great for Burton!

Showing my Southern Indiana bias---but he's not only smart but he is a solid player that went to a great D2 program that rarely lost while he was there.

And---a little known fact---he is also a good shooter! He led BNL High School in 3 point percentage and was a 40% 3 point shooter at Bellarmine (40-100 for his career).  He's a hard worker who will push the scholly boys.

Great to see an Indiana boy live out the dream of playing for IU!

First IU player from BNL since Mr Bailey

It seems to me that a lot of journalists aren't huge fans of Crean. Whether it's his somewhat abrasive attitude towards certain questions or his lack of answers, it just seems odd. Dopirak and him butted heads every single press conference. Crean seems like a guy who basically throws out the idea "I know what's best and you don't see the behind the scenes." Not really a great trait with the media. Watching a Crean press conference is a huge waste of time because his answers are interchangeable depending on whether we win or lose and by how much.

if you recruit properly, grow players properly and manage your roster properly you have a senior night. It's on the coaches more than the players
