"We view Bronny as [a] Case Study One because [of] his base level of feel, athleticism, point-of-attack defender, shooting, passing," Redick said. "There's a lot to like about his game, and as we build out our player development program holistically, he's going to have a great opportunity to become an excellent NBA player."

The statistics for Bronny James:

The 19-year-old guard averaged 4.8 points on 36.6% shooting (26.7% from 3), 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 19.3 minutes at USC after undergoing a heart procedure last summer. 

The Statistics for Gabe Cupps:

The 19-year-old guard averaged 2.6 points on 36.7% shooting (35.9% from 3), 1.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 21.7 minutes at Indiana and has no history of heart issues.

To the extent that they bother to try to rationalize this thing they’re gonna put whispers out there that they think he can be a Tyrese Maxey-type and they actually stole him at 55. Would be willing to bet a mortgage payment that at some point during  Summer League someone will make that comp on air.

‘Sheed on Arvydas Sabonis. Love it. The most underrated player in the history of the game. Jokic before Jokic is absolutely right.. If he’d hit the NBA at 22 instead of 30 with a bad back he’d be uncontroversially in the conversation about the greatest center to ever play. Also excellent for the stray that Detlef Schrempf’s drinking habits takes.

Eh maybe. I will rationalize it. Keep one of your top 2 players happy. Pick 55 is already unlikely to turn into anything meaningful. So to secure a content LeBron is probably more valuable than anyone else you could draft. LA already got Knecht as a steal at 17 so 55 might as well draft Bronny. I say this fully expecting he will be out of the league in 5 years.

Biggest "what if" player of all time IMO. He was so good, too bad he could not come here until he was already riddled with injuries. All time, the center position is so stacked. Kareem, Russell, Wilt, Shaq, and Hakeem probably all in the top 15 players ever. Not even considering Tim Duncan, who many consider the best PF of all time but actually played 46.7% of his minutes at center according to Statmuse. Even with all that, agree that Sabonis would be a top 5 center had he made NBA early.

Sabonis was a fantastic player all around. The Duncan - Big Fundamental - convo is a good one. I’m one who thinks of him as the best PF ever, but he could roam free at eith forward spot, that bank shot was deadly, the vision, the interior dominance, the passing, one of my fav all time players
