His stats were fine. I would have like for him to be more selfish at the start of the fourth. Instead Kyrie tried taking over. Lebron could and should have had 50 in that game if his teammates could have recognized what was happening with the ball in his hands. I don't mean that as demeaning. He has always been a distributor and he was fantastic. I think that is what people are saying when discussing his killer instinct. Great teammate I am sure. But at some point you tell everyone I am the best player on the planet and they aren't double teaming me. Give me the damn ball and you will still get your points.

That annoys me too. Kyrie is a great player but sometimes he's too sloppy and makes bad decisions because he wants to dance on guys. LeBron finally put up 30 shots but it should've happened from the start of the series.

The Cavs need to get someone that can fill the void when LeBron rests. Right now he sits out for 30 seconds and everything goes to crap. But yeah driving play after play, taking contact, all of that will wear ya out. He can't do that for all 46 minutes if he wants to have any energy left at the end.

But why can't he have energy left? Others have done it. I agree in the regular season that is unrealistic to ask of Lebron. But that was truly the only way they had a chance in the series. Like you and others have said you can't trust Kyrie or Love game to game. It is unrealistic to ask a player that is not your best player to consistently score the same amount as the best player in the world you know? I don't recall that working for any team. There has to be an alpha even on a stacked team.

Honestly if Durant didn't do what he did Lebron could've been MVP losing in 5. Nobody expected them to win this series. I just hate they didn't let Lebron do what he was doing in the third in the fourth. That is on Lue as much as anyone.

Because he's in his 14th season with 50,000+ minutes on his legs. Trust me man, I would love to see him try what you're suggesting, but if he hasn't changed at this point he probably never will. If he thinks his approach is the best way I guess I won't second guess him.

Lue is an average coach at best, imo. It's doubtful but I hope the Cavs consider getting rid of him. There were a number of times this series that I was shaking my head at his decisions. I thought he should've thrown Derrick Williams in for a few minutes to see what he could do guarding Durant. He couldn't have been much worse than the corpse of Richard Jefferson.

I'd love to see LeBron coached by Popovich. Someone who knows what he's doing and someone LeBron would actually listen to.

Why do LeBron's teammates crack under pressure though? It seems he has stacked teams that should win titles (not this year) but they don't get it done. Are his teammates looking for him to take over the game? Are they not as good as they're made out to be?

Love that idea of Williams guarding Durant. Man...that would have been interesting.

6'8 245 pounds. Big body, really athletic. It might not have made any difference at all but man it was at least worth a shot. Give him a few minutes on Durant so LeBron can guard Green, see what happens. What they were doing wasn't working but Lue refused to make any adjustments.

I definitely get that. I just think his approach to this point is fantastic, but I think the dude has another level to him when he gets a mindset he is getting to the rim. It is taxing. But in the finals when he is structuring everything up to that point around he should have the ability I would think. With 3 days in between every game his legs should be good. If not he should go to the bench for a breather. Off the ball he isn't great and typically stands around. He becomes lackadaisical at both ends when the ball isn't in his hands. I don't want it to seem like I am downing him for his performance as it was great. But the Cavs straight up couldn't beat that team. Maybe the best player in the game today could. I think Lue should have either rested him more early or if he was fine ran more ISO or pick and role with Thompson in the fourth.

I agree. It's the NBA finals and then you don't play again until November. Give everything you have left and make em carry you off the court after the game if they have to.

33.6/12/10/1.4/1 on 56.4% shooting for the series. It's a shame he couldn't get another ring out of it, but Golden State was too good. I still think Durant is weak for joining up with them, but that's another story. There's no denying how incredible they were.

If Lue can't get the job done I heard there's a head coach on the market that really loves athletic wings...

Since the NBA Finals are over and we're almost to draft day, time to change the title of the thread to 2017-18?

OG down to #22 in latest mock draft.

Sam Vecenie Retweeted Jonathan Givony

A solid Anunoby fall here from Jon. Been saying for a while I think this is possible. NBA execs aren’t quite as in on him as those in public.
