When Will Bob Knight/IU Patch Things Up

Just for purposes of discussion--when do you think IU and Bob Knight will patch things up? Most of us hope that happens someday to finally completely reunite our fans and bring the entire IU basketball family back together.  Will it Happen?

 

My opinion---it won't happen--- because that is just the way Knight is......

I believe Dane Fife once said he thinks it will happen, and I know Pat said RMK is softening.  I'd love to see it happen, and it'd only be a good thing for the program.  Although sadly I don't think it will, time goes fast and he isn't getting any younger.

I for one really don't care anymore.  I think the current university staff has gone out of its way to make amends and he's rebuffed every approach and hasn't yielded so much as an inch.  IMHO he's become a sorry old man and if he wants to take his bitterness towards IU to his grave so be it.  It was only a handful of people that were responsible for what happened and there have been a thousandfold people who have tried to make it right and he's thumbed his nose at all of them.  As far as I'm concerned he's just a footnote in IU basketball history.

While I understand (and for the most part, agree with) what you're saying, Coach Knight will never, not should he, be "just a footnote".

3 National Titles, 11 conference championships, .735 winning %, 4 National COY awards, 8 B1G COY awards.  

 

There are countless coaches that would love to be that kind of a "footnote".

I just keep hoping some former players that he really liked will convince him to do it! I don't think anyone else will have the same pull with him.  He did say once that he will always love the IU Fans.....Maybe Btown Banners could start a fan petition asking him to set aside his differences with IU and do it for us.....If we got thousands of signatures he might just do it for us--not the university. He is a man of principle and this might be more acceptable to him.

First thought was never. However, I believe if he knew he didn't have that long to live he MIGHT just show up out if the blue to finally give the fans what they want. I won't be holding my breathe though.
