OT: Possible Move to Richmond, VA

I received a very compelling offer to relocate to a territory that covers central Virginia, primarily richmond and Charlottsville with outskirts locations as well.

Born and raised in Indiana so would be a huge move for my family. Anyone ever been there or lived there? Good schools to look for? Nice areas to live?

Should be going down in a week to check things out so any advice on places to see or things to do would be greatly appreciated! If you prefer direct email just let me know and we can discuss.

Richmond is nice, and Charlottesville is gorgeous. I had some friends that used to live in the Richmond area and we'd visit once or twice a year. They lived in an outskirt of Richmond called Midlothian and it seemed really nice. Congrats on the offer.

Virginia is awesome and Richmond is a hidden gem of a city in my opinion. Fantastic bars. I remember half of them

Glen Allen is an area I travel to for work often and seems a really nice area. Just north of Richmond where Carmel would be in Indy.

Charlottesville is a fabulous place. Beautiful area, great schools. My wife and I thought about moving there years ago when our family was young. It was our dream location.

So we moved out here... 10" of snow last night and shut the entire city down for probably 2 days at minimum.... Also brought some historic cold weather with me.

Sorry to everyone that lives in Virginia, I'm cursed with weather.

Have friends in Charlottesville. They love the area only complaint is the high taxes compared to Hoosierland.
