Just read that the Patriots have the option to keep Revis next season but it'd be for 20 million.

Actually around 25 million, which they won't exercise.  It's been reported their plan is to work on a long term extension if they like what they see.

It's set up so that the cap hit with him this year is only 7 million, meaning they still have plenty of cap space to work with if they want Brandon Browner (who is visiting) or someone.  Talk about finding a way.

Colts signed C Phil Costa

"Phil is a young, hard nosed and physical center who has shown he can play at a winning level in our league," general manager Ryan Grigson said in a press release. "He will provide strong competition at the center position."

Makes me wonder if they're still after Alex Mack.

@HolderStephen: Obvious question: What does signing Phil Costa mean on Alex Mack front? My sense: Makes Mack less necessary but doesn't close door.

That's what Holder said but I'm with you on this one.

He got benched by the Cowboys but I agree I'm not sure if it's possible to be worse than Satele was.

Costa's is going to be paid backup-money ($1.35M a year, with incentives that could make it 1.75M a year), so it could be viewed as he is a contingency plan in case we fail to get Mack.

And yes, McGlynn played much better at center than at guard, and out played Satele at the latter's own position.  MANY other Colts fans don't get why McGlynn wasn't left at center, because it definitely worked better.

So Steve Smith has been released by the Panthers. I don't really get it, unless they sign one or two of the good wide outs who are testing free agency. Him and Olsen were the only two guys worth throwing the ball to last season, and Olsen isn't getting any younger.
