OT. James back to the Cavs...
OT: It has been a weird off-season for the NBA and free agency. Jordan Hill getting a 2 year, 18 million dollar contract pretty much is a perfect example of this being weird. Also, the Raptors probably overpaid for every player they resigned.
And the Raptors drafted possibly the most unknown player in recent draft memory.

"I feel my calling here goes above basketball," LeBron told Jenkins. "I have a responsibility to lead, in more ways than one, and I take that very seriously. My presence can make a difference in Miami, but I think it can mean more where I'm from. I want kids in Northeast Ohio, like the hundreds of Akron third-graders I sponsor through my foundation, to realize that there's no better place to grow up. Maybe some of them will come home after college and start a family or open a business. That would make me smile. Our community, which has struggled so much, needs all the talent it can get."

It just makes sense to give up Wiggins right now...

@MedcalfByESPN: I don't think America really knows K-Love yet. Folks don't realize he averaged 26.1 PPG, 12.5 RPG at 25 years old. Worth more than Wiggins.

I would keep Wiggins. Could you imagine him in three years under Lebron? Don't get me wrong Love is good but I don't think the dude has ever played on an above .500 team. He also isn't a rim protecter and that's something Miami was missing a lot of the times when James was there

Yes.

Melo is back with the Knicks. 5 years, reportedly 120 million. Next off-season they'll be interesting to watch with getting Amare and Bargnani (Unless he does get traded) off the books

That's when the new TV deal is supposed happen and increase salaries. He'll be able to get more money by doing that.

@ChrisMannixSI: One exec on Cavs chance at K-Love w/out including Andrew Wiggins. "No way. If I'm Minnesota, I want Wiggins, Dion Waiters and two No. 1's."

I've been a big LeBron "hater" over the years. Partly because I'm a Celtic fan, and more recently because of how and why he left Cleveland.

After reading that letter I'm now rooting for the guy. Not if he's playing the Celtics or a handful of other teams, but I no longer will root against him. I've always loved and respected the way he plays basketball, but now he's clearly matured and grown up. He's ready to handle the spotlight, and I know respect that he had to leave home to grow up. Still don't like how he did it, but understand that he had to it.
Magic Johnson, Worthy, Jabbar, and Mychal Thompson were all #1 overall picks on the late 80s Lakers, although Jabbar and Thompson were drafted by the Bucks and Blazers before heading to LA.
ESPN was saying they were, so they must have meant #1's from the same team. They sure do like digging deep for their stats.

Honestly feel like every team is drooling over this. There is suppose to be a pretty sizeable spike in salaries

I'm surprised we haven't seen as many backloaded deals this summer, though with the CBA you can only backload them so much. There has been a good amount of short term deals that are clearly structured around this two year time frame.
