OT. James back to the Cavs...

Recommended Posts

Good for LBJ, I like this decision.  But at the same time it sure makes the Central Division tougher for the Pacers.  See now Lance has to re-sign in Indy, more chances to mess around with LBJ now!

Well I wouldn't be opposed to upping our offer to Lance like he wants. We have until the end of the NBA season to get under the tax threshold with a number of pieces that shouldn't be too hard to move: Scola has a partially guaranteed contract, Cope we aren't using him so might as well unload him, Ian who is one of the better back up centers in the league.

I'm still down for moving Roy or Hill. Not sure I'd be OK with moving both, but one or the other would be fine by me.

I'd prefer we move Roy if we could get an athletic center in return. Also, his contract is obviously much larger than GH's. Probably wouldn't have to focus so much on feeding a center the ball offensively, which would mean more touches for Lance and PG, that would be fun to watch.

Larry Sanders maybe? Not sure what his contract looks like, but he can play. I feel like Bird would squash his off-court troubles pretty quickly as well. If he has a smaller contract, we could try picking up a real PG like Jameer Nelson.

If they added in a lightly protected future first round pick I would do it, just because of his off the court crap. If nothing else we'd get a future young prospect. Feels like Nelson is at the point in his career where he'd sign for less to play for a contender so it might be worth pursuing if we can stay out of the tax

Yeah I've seen quite a bit of projections about Nelson coming here so that's why I mentioned him. I also saw Sanders and Mayo for Hibbert or something like that.

Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
Gilbert and Cleveland are going to expect a championship immediately. I think they'll feel the pressure to get Love even if it means losing Wiggins. Personally, Love is only 25 so if you can wrap up Love, LeBron and Kyrie you'd have a serious contender every year. I think I'd make the trade.

I've seen the trade rumor you're talking about. I'd assume we're sending more back since that would be adding money on short term and long term. And not doing that seems to be a priority of us outside of Lance
They have three first round picks next year. Give Minnesota all of them, with Bennet and Waiters and I think that should do it. Best deal there going to get in the entire NBA.
Not really I'd take Wiggins+ over that offer. One pick will be their own which will be a late pick, one will be Miami's with Bosh coming back and Wade likely too they won't miss the playoffs in the weak east. That's 2 picks alone not in the lottery. If I'm Minnesota I want picks that I know will be in the lottery. I'd tell them Wiggins+ or no deal. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Kind of interesting to see the reactions across various social media outlets. A lot of people are now saying the "fix is in" to give Cleveland a championship and the Cavs are now their most hated team.

It feels like an episode of the Twilight Zone when people say they hate a team from Cleveland more than anyone else.

So let's get this (OT from Lebron for a minute) straight...Rockets trade Lin for nothing to get Bosh money. Lebron chooses Cleveland. Bosh resigns with the Heat. Houston....loses. No way they get in with Melo this late. No big time guys to get now. Ouchtown.. population: Rockets. Late push for K. Love?

I know there are still some big moves to be made, but it's really annoying how the Bulls are mentioned with any free agent who has a pulse while there's little to no talk anywhere about the Pacers. What is so appealing about Chicago? Not being surrounded by corn like Indianapolis?

Or Chicago can clear money that we can't for guys like Melo and Love.

OT: It has been a weird off-season for the NBA and free agency. Jordan Hill getting a 2 year, 18 million dollar contract pretty much is a perfect example of this being weird. Also, the Raptors probably overpaid for every player they resigned.
