The cooking thread

Recommended Posts

As a spin off of the grilling thread, use this to post non-grilled foods.  I'll start with the Italian loaf pizza I posted in the other thread.

Tried the Italian loaf pizza today, turned out pretty good.  Cut the loaf in half a few times, it was a good sized loaf so it made 8 halves.  Sauteed some sweet onion in extra virgin olive oil then added some canned pizza sauce to mix together, I used a little under half an onion with 15 oz sauce and the taste seemed kind of strong at first (and I like onions enough to eat just a raw onion, and I have done so) but after you put it together it's fine.  Took a few halves of the bread and spread a couple tablespoons of the sauce one each, then topped with pepperoni and bacon crumbles (I just used the Hormel bacon crumbles you can get near the pizza toppings) and some mozzarella cheese and sprinkled a little oregano on top.  Bake on 400 for about 13 minutes and it's ready.  There was a flavor that was a little strong so I think it could've used a little more cheese or a little less oregano.

Plus, there's probably enough toppings/sauce/bread for another meal.  Fairly cheap to make, you can control the flavors, and you can get multiple meals.  Win, win, win.

Might as well add some other stuff got the sweet potato fries crusted with Parmesan and then a sriracha mayo dipping sauce.

Then for you BBQ addicts like myself I make 5 different sauces.

Let's just say cooking is another gateway to women.

Let's go hoosiers and keep it up on that football recruiting trail! #play13 #coachhep [attachment=956:ImageUploadedByBtownBanners1403144612.534452.jpg][attachment=957:ImageUploadedByBtownBanners1403144689.867948.jpg]

Made Crockpot Fiesta Chicken. I've made it before, but I was doomed before I even started. Messing up food that I normally never mess up.

Anyway, consists of chicken, rotel, corn, rice, and queso. I put chicken quesadilla seasoning in it. Cook in high for about 3 and a half to 4 hours. Good stuff if done right.

Just made crockpot BBQ shredded chicken. It was amazing.

Covered the bottom with chicken
Mixed together:

Entire bottle of Sweet Baby Ray's Sweet and Spicy BBQ sauce
1/3 cup of brown sugar
2 tps of Worcestershire sauce.
Spoon full of chili powder

Cooked on Low for around 2.5 hours and shredded the chicken. Then put the chicken back in and cooked for another 40 minutes. Freaking awesome.

Also sliced potatoes and fried them in a skillet with sliced onions. Added butter, garlic salt, and Chicago steak seasoning.

I ate the BBQ chicken on buns. No need for extra sauce, it was perfect.

He gave us a pic of the second class brand of beer he drinks (and living in St. Louis no less) but he can't give us a pic of this delicious sounding meal?  Geesh!   Emoji
