NBA Draft Lottery (Cleveland at 1... Again)

Recommended Posts
Is it fair to assume the Cavs will pull a Cleveland and draft someone like Aaron Gordon?

I should add that's not to say that I don't like Gordon, of course...but not at # 1.
I've been trying to figure out a "Cleveland pick" and Gordon has to be it. That would be hilarious. With Thompson and Bennett I doubt they would, but it's the Cavs.

I thought about Julius Randle, but only if he goes on the DeAndre Thomas diet between now and draft night.

Basketball Insiders has Noah Vonleh going to the 76ers at the third pick right now. Thought that was interesting (and a little high).

Not much of a stretch provided Wiggins and Parker go 1 and 2. They don't need a center (Embiid) and Exum is nearly the same person as MCW. Smart is the wild card there.

The lotto last night was a sight to see..

The two storied franchises in the NBA get screwed (Boston, Lakers) and the Cavs win the #1 overall pick for the third time in four years..

Something is wrong here. I believe the cavs will trade the pick for someone valuable, perhaps even Kevin Love.

I see Noah falling to Boston or the Lakers, both teams, especially the Lakers are highly interested in him.

Eh, Kevin Love is going to take more than a pick to get. And other than Irving and maybe Thompson who under contract would you actually want from that roster? I doubt they have the assets outside of the number 1 pick to land Love, and I still doubt that will be enough......... then again it is Minnesota we're dealing with.

Edit: I suppose they could just start completely rebuilding and making this trade while asking for Varejo and Waiters. Varejo's contract is non-guaranteed for next season. Which means they can just cut him and not owe him anything. And take the chance that Waiters pans out, while shopping Rubio to see what they could get out of him

Yeah the cavs don't have ANYONE at the same value as Kevin Love besides Kyrie. Love is for sure gone next year if he doesn't get traded before next summer. Minny needs to get someone valuable instead of letting him walk. I don't think the cavs have enough valuable long term pieces to offer. Bennett was a bust so they won't want him, minny had their own problems with their bust (Shabazz). Waiters, picks, and varejo wouldn't get me to trade my star player.

Overall, i see the Warriors being the only team that can offer the wolves a deal for love. The deal could include Klay, Barnes, and Lee, although i doubt they want to get rid of Klay.

Then you would have 2 guys that kinda can play the point but probably shouldn't.

Definitely. They can't go wrong with either of them. But with Vic and Smart, they almost are the same position wise.
