It's more than likely going to be another unknown.[/quote] Do you even believe the things you say? I'm sure of all the assistant coaches in the country there is a least a decent amount who would see IU and CTC as an advancement in their career. You don't always have to like your boss for it to be a good job.

Maybe a good time to lure Fife from Mich St? I dont know how he is as a recruiter...

I would love this but I think Crean might be threatened by him because if he were stagger, Fife would probably be the interim manager.

Funny how the guys who criticize the most get the most upset when they get some of it back. Can't let it go eh?

Funny how you can reply back when its just banter but not when we actually talk basketball. Still waiting for your basketball related answer and definately not upset as you mention. Would you employ a press this coming year to max out our guard talent? Just asking another question.

I'm going to start a thread titled "Offensive Strategy For Our Guard-Heavy Lineup".

It's a good discussion point - shouldn't be in the 'KJ Replacement' thread, but should be discussed.

Hey sc. Sorry to have left the premises on you earlier tonight. It must have driven you nuts waiting for me to answer you. Next time I'll try not to have a life when you require my attention. Funny how you expect no one else to go outside and play just because it's always a rainy day at your house.  Gonna go to bed now. We'll have to deal with your "challenge" later.  Happy dreams!

I'm honestly not very knowledgeable when it comes to assistant coaches around the nation, so I can't add to the "wish list" of asst. coaches here...   but I had a question on what type of assistant coach we might want at Indiana.

Would the Hoosiers benefit most from an X's & O's, strategic, and coaching saavy assistant?  or would we be best served with an assistant who can recruit his butt off?

Having an X's & O's assistant coach could really help out Crean during his in-game coaching and help draw up plays, etc (which we def. need).  While the recruiting heavy assistant could just bring the talent.

I would prefer an X's and O's assistant. But I'm not sure how much Crean allows his assistants to give their input during games. I know they have a say in gameplans.

When I look at the blueblood schools I see benches with former players on them, besides UK. Duke is full of Dukies, UNC has Tar Heels, KU just had Manning leave and now he is moving up the ladder. The entire bench doesn't have to be former player but I think it is necessary to have at least 1 guy that's a former player on the staff.

It's a huge part of selling the program. Come here and play an when you are finished we will help take care of you if desire to coach. Taking care of your own. I know Cream helps his former players but this is just another step he can take.

If we don't go that route then hire the Simeon coach and tap into that pipeline that put out possibly the best talent in the country. Wade is a Chicago kid and Crean coached him. Cash in on that area while Wade still plays.

He's the second most corrupt man in Chicago, behind the Mayor

That would make Duke corrupt right along with every other program that Simeon has sent players too.

It doesn't have to be a Calipari type hire but it needs to be a hire that anger us into a huge recruiting hotbed. Chicago, DMV, NYC.
