You know, he might consider us if he transferred. We were pretty interested in him if I remember correctly.

If Lee goes anywhere it is to the NBA.  No doubt he would be selected in the 1st round.

Not to be a buzzkill! Do ya'll think that the style of play that Crean has used with Zeller and Vonleh has anything to do with not being able to sign bigs? I mean, how is it that Crapilari has too many big guys, and we can't seem to find even a 2 or 3 star guy for a backup? It has to be a topic for opposing coaches during recruiting.

This would probably fit better in a CTC-related thread. This thread has nothing to do with our coach, as we are talking about UK's big man problem, and specifically Trey Lyles.

Coaches can use that in recruiting, but the fact that those guys are lottery picks after IU should be a fine counterargument

I would take legitimately anyone on the OP. Can Kentucky still block a transfer to us even though we aren't in their conference?

Absolutely... they would get some public backlash from it, but if they want to limit the teams a player transfers too they can.

Lyles will get PT. WCS and some other guys will see a decrease. Players assume that if they're going to UK they are one and done. Well, what happens when your stock isn't what you expected? You come back for another year of course! One problem, 2 Burger boys are coming in to take your minutes. Great system Cal.

I feel like it would be difficult to recruit not knowing who's gonna stay and who's gonna leave in those freshman classes.

Based on some rumors that i'm sure everyone has heard, in which Coach CALAMARI might leave the UK program for the NBA...
Just speculatively, if this were to come to fruition, what do you think the chances of Lyles coming back to IU for next season might be?

I might be mistaken, but I believe players are able to withdraw their commitment even after signing if there is a coach change.  No doubt that Lyles would get some good playing time at IU, but "nasty" tweets by our fanbase and the rumor brought to light by Dan Dakich may have sealed the deal on Lyles even making IU a possibility...

Won't happen. Louisville would probably be his next choice.

I like Lyles as a player, i'd be really disappointed to see him have reduced playing time.  Even at UK, Trey is still from Indy and it's always nice to see some "natural-born" Hoosiers do well around the country.    Would be more disappointed if his lack of playing time is because of his father dictating things, it seems like he is trying to live his past glory days through his son, never going to be good...

Between slim and none, and slim left town a while back.

Sorry I guess there must be a rules page somewhere that I forgot to read. I thought that this was an open forum for all things regarding IU basketball.

Yes, the FORUM is certainly that. This thread, however, is a specific topic on Trey Lyles and his status at UK. Please feel free to create yet another Crean thread or continue one of the many others.

This has been discussed ad nausea, there are specific threads for specific topics. Turning every single thread into stuff about Tom Crean is getting beyond obnoxious at this point. It isn't just you, just saying

I understand! Didn't mean to ruffle peoples feathers. I guess if we had been sitting here like a couple years ago, the tone would be a lot different on these forums. There was definitely a lot of optimism back then. Lets hope we get it back together sooner rather than later.
