Naturalhoosier Posted April 30, 2014 Author Posted April 30, 2014 Oh silly Yankees fan. So hypocritical. It's hard to be on the selling side of things instead of the buying, huh!? Quote

JSHoosier Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Oh silly Yankees fan. So hypocritical. It's hard to be on the selling side of things instead of the buying, huh!? That was embarrassing. I can't blame him for taking the bigger offer, even if Seattle will end up regretting that. Quote
Naturalhoosier Posted May 24, 2014 Author Posted May 24, 2014 Going through some old boxes in the attic and came across this glove my grandfather gave me. Thought it was pretty cool and wanted to share. I had forgot I had it. Once I get my Man Cave it'll go on the mantle. JSHoosier Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Nice touch White Sox. Not bad, still not as good as the Chair of Broken Dreams Minnesota gave Mo. Quote
LIHoosier Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 Josh Beckett threw a no-no today vs. the Phillies. http://youtu.be/nyygCA8Y4GI Quote

TheWatShot Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 After a 27-12 start, the Tigers have dropped 15 of their last 21 and have allowed the Indians to go from 10.5 games back to just 2 back in three weeks. I feel like I'm watching the Pacers' collapse all over again, just a different sport and much earlier in the season. Unbelievable. Quote
LIHoosier Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 RIP Tony Gwynn. I just heard about this and I'm floored. Quote
JSHoosier Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 RIP Tony Gwynn. I just heard about this and I'm floored. Cancer is an awful thing. He was one of baseball's best hitters, a .338 career batting average is absurd. To let it sink in how incredible he was as a hitter, 672 times a batter has had a 3 K game but in 20 years Gwynn only did that once. Greg Maddux, he with 3,371 career Ks never struck Gwynn out in 107 times facing him and Gwynn destroyed him with a .415/.476/.521 triple slash. Quote
Naturalhoosier Posted June 17, 2014 Author Posted June 17, 2014 Oh no. That's too bad. He had such a smooth swing. Prayers to his family. Sent from the can using BtownBanners Quote
TheWatShot Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 It really is amazing how bad Justin Verlander has become. Once a threat to throw a no-hitter every time he took the mound, he's now sporting a 4.76 ERA with more walks and fewer strikeouts. Quote

Once a threat to throw a no-hitter every time he took the mound, he's now sporting a 4.76 ERA with more walks and fewer strikeouts. He's been trending in the wrong direction the last couple years. His velocity is down but PitchF/x shows it at 93.4 for the FB this year which is certainly enough to be successful. His HR/FB rate is below his career line and his GB% is normal, but his LOB% is way down. His BABIP is up which can sometimes indicate bad luck and his FIP is almost a run lower than ERA, his FIP isn't good but it's okay at around league average. It could be mileage catching up to him. He's thrown 200+ innings the last 7 years in a row and it's not unusual for pitchers to decline after they hit 30. Quote
TheWatShot Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 The old Verlander made an appearance tonight: 7 innings, 1 earned run, 4 hits, 1 walk, 8 strikeouts. The Tigers' overpaid closer stole a win from him. Quote
TheWatShot Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 The position numbers on the Tampa Bay Rays' lineup card tonight were, in order, 8-6-7-5-3-DH-9. Quote
