Just gotta keep that Bartman dude away from Wrigley!

I read a story a few years ago during the 2016 Playoff run, that he left Chicago and doesn't go back except for family.  The Cubs were offering him tickets to a game if they made the World Series, and he turned them down.  They wanted to exorcise that demon I suppose.

Interesting... so Bartman goes the way of the Billy Goat curse...

Sorry, he lives in the area, but he stays out of the spotlight.  The Cubs also gave him a 2016 World Series ring for closure, but he just wants to stay out of the public eye.  Alex Gonzalez is the one that really costed the Cubs in game 6 of 2003 because that error hurt.

I don’t blame him my wife lived near the stadium at the time and she talked about roving packs of people looking for him after the game.

His incident let Alex Gonzalez off the hook.  They still had the lead in game 7 and lost it.  I was 32 and was pretty peeved for about a month.

With the condition of the starting rotation, I have very low expectations for the Cubs in the NLDS. Horton is out, Boyd has been great, but looks out of gas. Imanaga is giving up 4 homers per inning. Rea and Tallion have be terrific end of rotation guys but not sure you can count on that in the playoffs The offense has been so inconsistent. Just don't get swept. Of course, the Brewers will choke eventually and I'd prefer it this series, but hard to see the Cubs out slugging the them right now.

Hope I am wrong.

Yeah, excited about it. But feel the same. I think we needed an ACE at trade deadline. Bullpen at times has been great. But other times awful. The bats are the same. Pretty inconsistent. Boyd was hot for a while but has been shaky lately. Milwaukee despite the best record in baseball doesn’t scare me.

I always thought Baker leaving Prior in during Game 2 against the Marlins played a little part. Cubs were up 8-0 after three innings and 11-0 after five, and Baker kept Prior in for seven innings and 116 pitches. Pull him earlier, let him rest and turn the game over to the bullpen.

Prior said that when he needed to reach back and get "that little extra," he was always able to. But not in Game 6. Said he had nothing left in that eighth inning. Maybe pulling him earlier from Game 2 makes a difference. Maybe not. But he didn't need to stay out there that long in a blowout.

I was at the Bartman Game. Still not over it. LOL.

I am still not over '84, and I still hate Steve Garvey.

I did not have a 3 hit shut-out on my bingo card tonight! Just one more time.

And if the bats wake up like they were in May, they can do something special because there is no over powering team this year.

Would not want to be the Phillies 11th inning closer.

That guy straight up panicked!  1st base and he would've been out of the inning.  I bet they go over that a lot in Spring Training next year.

1) If you're the 11th inning closer, you're not the closer
2) It would've helped if their cavalcade of stars; Schwarbs included could've won a home game.
