I seen someone post it before and it was spot on. If Troy and Stan get in the gym and push one another the sky's the limit for both.

Absolutely.  That is our best chance going forward.  I hope Yogi gets more efficient.  That with those two if they improve can be dangerous.  Unless we find a clog for our soon to be gaping hole in the middle this point is limited.  However, those 3 if all are improved, it could mask a lot of issues.

With "scorers" coming in I think some of the pressure will be off of Yogi to score, leading to more assists and just a more rounded team.  Think the guys coming in will help spread the court allowing players like Stan and Troy to prosper.

Hope we get a good serviceable big somehow to fill that inside gap. Come on Hanner, wear out Cook Hall!

Hopefully the arrest wakes him up.  He has the opportunity of a lifetime with his size and athleticism to improve.  If he takes advantage of this it is never too late.  With him we are probably 2 bigs still short unless we run some very small lineups out there.  We better run like its a track meet if that is the case.

Agreed, I was trying to say we need another big along with Hanner..

I'm not going to sift through 4 pages but what exactly is the deal here? Crean is liked almost universally by all of his current and former players. Troy saw his coach was catching a lot of heat and sent out a photo? What's the big deal? Honestly.

I think by his senior year he could have a game that resembles what wiggins is doing for Kansas. Now I'm not saying he's wiggins in any way but wiggins does it all as a wing and I want to see troy get to that level.

That would be amazing: freak athletic, good rebounder, good scorer. It's possible.

Unfortunately, it is.  It wouldn't matter if RMK was still the coach.  This type of year would create this type of commotion.  The only thing I regret as a Mod is not seeing this thread sooner.  A 19 year old kid was showing his appreciation for his coach turned into this.  There are going to be threads for frustration after this type of season.  This one should have been different.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm almost too tired for the little stuff anymore. I don't know how you guys have the energy to pick an Instagram photo apart. I really don't. This season and the aftermath have taken their tolls. It takes so much energy to be upset. I'm just kind of at the point where I watch the tourney, give College Basketball a break until recruiting starts heating back up and look towards next year. If dwelling on this season is going to require this much energy, I'm out. So disappointing.

you don't doubt Crean's ability to teach his players?

then why did our turnover rate not improve this year? Why were the same awful mistakes being made over and over again? This whole season was one of the most glaring instances of a teacher failing to connect with his pupils that I can ever remember

I am willing to excuse the first two years but year three is something that still bugs me

we went from just before Christmas till the end of the season with just three wins

Cody and Austin were the only differences between a 20-loss season and a Sweet 16?

2010/2011 was a massive failure in coaching. If life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. Coach Crean is not capable of making chicken salad out of chicken crap. I want a coach who is

I know this is out of context but I do not want chicken salad made out of chicken crap! I just wanna win last year the topics were so much different here, with the same coach.

I have seen ALL of the games that everyone else has and the outcome remains the same. We have the same coach (like it or hate it), we are still and always will be IU. (Just a few years ago the Pacers bandwagon was at an all time low) Look how winning changes things for us fans. All I want is for the Hoosiers to win, and they proved they can but not regularly. We need not to think the sky is falling but that we are going no where but up from here.

Win or lose, I love Indiana basketball!

Why wouldn't Troy be all positive about his relationship with Crean.  He got to start every game no matter how bad he played and never got lit up on the sideline for screwing up.  I remember one game where AE got the riot act from Crean for fouling a 3 point shooter.  Next game, Troy did the exact game and was patted on the rear and just told not to do that.  Great for Troy. Bad for the TEAM!

People were making the claim, or at least one poster that seemed to know a few players at least, that the players did not respect Crean. So this is relevant as a defense against that claim.

My take has been that IU should probably not fire Crean right now - next year perhaps. I say probably though because if there are things going on behind the scene that are troubling then that could change. Players not respecting the coach is just one of those things and this helps show that may not be the case.
