Is there any potential for Cunnigham to grow anymore? Maybe an inch or two, would be nice to to get him somewhere from 6'8-6'9" range would be really nice. Even more so if he translates to being more of a natural 4 in college.

Good overall summary. I agree, we will get one of Clark/Cunningham. I think we take a 5th in the class too. Not too sure who that will be. I think Perea can log 25 minutes next year at the 5, but then what? What are we going to do with our 3 headed clone Hoetzel/Etherington/Hartman? I am partially kidding because I realize they are different players, but very very similar. I just don't get it.

I don't necessarily follow recruiting as much as some of you but aren't we maxed out on scholarships for the next 2 years? How are we still recruiting? (I know we need another big man but how do we make this work?)

Please correct me if I am wrong but:

Doesn't each team have 13 available scholarships?

We currently have 12 scholarship players - Losing 1 (Will), gaining 3 (Hoetzel, RoJo, JB Jr) that already puts us 1 over? I know we may lose Noah or somebody else will transfer or be forced out/off scholly to make the numbers work, but another on top of that?

We have no Juniors this year so that means we will not have any scholarships available the next year either without more deflections (NBA, Transfer, etc)

Gordon is on scholarship I believe and is Howard still walk-on or did he get one? I'm not sure. Crean always oversigns, and it always works, so I trust him.

Gordon, Sheehey, Fischer are officially open after the season. I wouldn't particularly focus on the numbers. I know that sounds odd but I would expect some of the transfer/medical hardship rumors to come to fruition. Don't want to speculate on who and why in this thread.

Howard is a walk-on along with Taylor Wayer that never changed and I'm not sure about Evan.

Yeah I knew Howard walked on, just never knew if he earned a scholarship or not. Pretty sure Evan is on one.

Fischer can't play until December.

He's talking about available scholarships for next year. We'll have 3 right now, more if there are players leave.

I think, based on the video I've seen and profiles I've studied, that Cunningham will have the biggest impact of those players during his freshman season. Hope we land him, but really we could use any number of them.

We need 2 bigs that can play quality minutes.  With or without Noah, that will be a struggle.  We have Hanner, but at most he is a 15 min guy unless he blows up in the gym.

Honestly, I'd be going after bigs only.  I think we're fine at wings even if there's a transfer, but we'll be hurting for big depth with Noah and up the creek without him.

I don't see any bigs out there that you would want to give a roster spot out to for 4 years. I think Crean will look at the 5th yr transfer options bc he knows we have the talent to be good next year. That will be the missing link. We may also jump in and take a big from a school that losses their coach.

Great thread.

To answer the scholly situation, as pap said we have three rides opening up (Will, Evan, and Fischer) and currently have three freshman incoming. I can't imagine that PJ, as nice a kid as he is, ties up as scholly for a third year if he is still incapable of seeing the court.

That gives us one more to fill, likely by Josh C or Marvin C.

If Noah comes back, we may be done right there. If he doesn't, we go get a big in April. There'll be 5th yrs bigs available by then, and with J Davis taking his time, he'll also be an option. If we have a gaping need for a big, it seems to me we'd be an extremely attractive option for J Davis.
