Can Peter Jurkin Contribute and is He Healthy?

Recommended Posts

Can PJ contribute during game situations against higher-level competition?

I know what Jeff Howard can do: he will provide maximum effort and awareness and most importantly, will not turn the ball over or make many mistakes. However, Jeff is limited from a physical standpoint.

With Peter, those that want to see him get game minutes need to understand that he will make mistakes; moving screens, bringing the ball down to where guards can swipe at it, and at times lesser reaction in help-side defense.

Moreover, I have no idea whether Peter's legs have healed to the point that he is able to play without limitations.

So; I pose this question to the gallery:

Does anyone have any substantive info as to whether Peter is truly and finally healthy?

Peter Jurkin is one of the biggest mysteries ever. No way he's logged over 15 career minutes. And no one really answers questions about him. I say let him play, stick him in the corner, and let him bust 3's. He might be our Jordan Hulls sniper that we've been missing. I saw him at Hysteria knocking them down.

He looks healthy in warmups, if that's any sign at all. I think he's healthy enough to contribute, but I'm not sure he's GOOD enough to contribute. Maybe we'll see tomorrow?

Does Crean have the heart to dump him? He should....Its not doing the kid or the team any good to have him there taking up a scholarship...let him go to a smalller school where he can actually land a few minutes...

I just want one thing answered does anybody remember last year when him and hanner had to sit out and crean would say on the radio show how much of a impact they could make if they were not suspended? I want to know can crean not tell by practice how well a kid id performing does he have to see them in game action to see there true level of play? I just wonder cause it seems that he has always bragged about guys in practice but never materializes in games.

Sent from my SCH-I535 using BtownBanners mobile app

I'm sure all Hanner did was dunk and look really cool. Easy to overhype that.

To be fair to Crean, one of the national basketball writers watched a couple of practices before last season. He wrote about Hanner being an athletic beast who would provide an immediate impact on defense and the boards. I can't remember if that was Davis or Goodman. I do recall the same article discussing Peter as being extremely raw.

Anyway, practice is practice. The game usually gets faster and tougher under the bright lights.

I hanner mayby but the jurk cant even get on the floor cant see missing it that bad. I did see him at hoosier hysteria his freshman year and thought he may b decent certainly not how bad it is but I didn't see him everyday like crean. I guess in the first exhibition game he got in and did some positive things also

Sent from my SCH-I535 using BtownBanners mobile app
