Penn State @ IU Post Game Thread

OT: I'm guessing you didn't catch the Pacers game? Because I wouldn't advise watching any replay of it, everyone had a pretty horrible night.

No, I looked at the box score a few times throughout the IU game, saw the FG% and decided I didn't wanna see it. PG needs to get his head out of his *** though.

Eh, I don't really put much of tonight on him, or his shooting on him tonight. Lance was worse, he turns the ball over more than anyone, and don't even get me going on how badly he has been playing on the defensive end of the court over the last month or so. Paul's shooting tonight was just as much as everyone else, a lot of his shots came with under 3 seconds on the shot clock, and came with his teammates putting the ball in his hands with about 4-5 seconds left in the shot clock. The offense in general was bad

PG has been shooting poorly for a while now though. Its pretty clear now that his early season 48fg 42 3pt aren't sustainable. And if Scola isn't gonna do anything Cope needs to play.

Saw this link breaking down how the buyout drops. Holy crap, Glass must have been on something. That was a stupid contract to give. That has nothing to do with how I feel about Crean as a coach, but that was just a stupid contract.

An overachieving season will do that to a man. Esp. one who was just coming off sanctions.

( EDIT you put "OUR" team as well didn't see that at first ) I know I said I wasn't going to participate but I just want to say one quick thing. I'm not trying to start anything with anyone on this board, and believe it or not, I'm also trying to make a more conscious effort towards my notorious negative posting style during games. But it irks me to no end when people act like people can't have an opinion on things like a coaches coaching ability or a player/team performance. When fans expect a good season they will get upset when it doesn't happen.

nobody's sayin ya can't have an opinion, the whole point is that IU fans should be loyal, there's no reason for people to trash the coach and/or players, that's pure immature and stupid. There is no excuse for some of the BS I've heard said tonight about coach Crean, and it makes me sick to know that the people sayin that crap are fans of the team I adore. Criticize all ya want, get pissed, but don't trash "your team"

That's an incredibly stupid contract to give coming off one Sweet 16, regardless of circumstances.

That's like two straight undefeated seasons type money.

On CTC: Crean was the perfect rah-rah, cheerleader type coach to guide Indiana through the pits of college basketball hell. Is he the perfect coach to lead Indiana to the top of the college basketball mountain? I don't know, but probably not. I'm willing to give him next season, however, but will not accept another season like this.

On Noah Vonleh: Yes, it's unacceptable he doesn't get a lot of shots. That's on him and the coaches. Noah is not very good on offense. He's pretty bad at getting position, has one poor post move, and gets pushed around. That's why I think Crean was talking about getting him the ball on the perimeter earlier this week. Coaches need to help him improve his post game though, and he needs a lot of help.

Anything he scores is a result of his toughness and just being bigger than basically everyone. If he can learn and develop into a better offensive player, he'll be scary good.

On seniors: Fifth year senior played at Arizona State and Liberty (I think that's right) before for a reason. Fourth year senior was a sixth man for a reason. Both leave a bit to be desired.

On tonight: It sucked, and Charlie called the choke.

:), I wish I was wrong though, just had a gut feeling (and the fact that we've done it twice in 3 games).

That tells me that we have him for at least 3 more seasons.

I think we all felt it coming. This team is so frustrating.

My expectations for this season were pretty realistic. The national media, my home state newspapers, even a gas station periodical called B1G basketball preview I purchased all said the same thing. Due to last season's personnel losses, Indiana is likely to struggle. Everything I read claimed Indiana would be mid to low end in the B1G. The season started exactly as they predicted, and is going to end that same way. I knew this going in yet, I began to believe they could be more after beating Wisc., coming close with Mich St., and beating Michigan. Is it wrong of me to be so upset that this season has turned out exactly the way we all knew it would? Am I a hypocrite because I expected more even though the numbers were telling the truth? I don't think so. I believe Indiana has to be held to a higher standard. There is a definite reputation to protect. To me, this season, despite all that I knew would happen, is unacceptable. The quality of play is poor. Forget the coaching, forget the quality of our recruits. The quality of basketball being played by this team is poor. That, I have a real problem with.

I can't imagine how miserable life would be had Yogi not signed with us. Last year just wouldn't have happened and while this season hasn't been ideal it would be about as enjoyable as getting eaten alive by a pack of wolves if it weren't the strides he has made in his game over the past 12 months

I doubt the media will ever run with the narrative that Yogi has an Oladipo-esque work ethic (because Yogi was a 5* and Vic didn't have much hype coming out of HS) but I really believe he works every bit as hard as Vic did/does. To spend a considerable amount of time in Russia and manage your academic responsibilities and still make the improvements he has made = uncommon and a sign that someone spent a ridiculous amount of time in the gym

by the time Yogi leaves Bloomington I think DJ White is the only player I will have adored as much
