That was brutal fellas. Not really sure how all to respond right now.

I do.  Screw Negan, I hope he gets Lucille'd with the Saviors watching helplessly.

Okay, that was disturbingly dark.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan said people would despise Negan after this episode and he was right.

I hate his guts but I also like him in a way

Great episode, but what if they would've shown Abraham getting killed at the end of last season. Nobody would've seen Glenn coming. What do you guys think?

That's not what they wanted though. They wanted anybody and everybody who has watched the show to tune it. It wasn't about shock value it's about building anticipation

I see what Charlie was saying though. People would've tuned in regardless to see what would've happened next, but had they shown Abraham dying last season then the Glenn killing would've had an even bigger shock factor.

People who watched the last seasons finale would have turned in.  But this was a move to get people who had stopped watching but were still invested in the characters to catch up and tune in recapturing an audience they had lost.

The finale of 6 and the season 6 overall had fewer viewers than both season 4 and 5.  They are being smart and trying to bring those people they lost back into the fold before the attrition starts affecting budgets and it becomes a vicious cycle.

Glenn's death shocked me anyways, I just assumed it was Daryl when he jumped in (I never read the comics)

I thought the same thing(I didnt read the comics either), As soon as he jumped up my first thought was everyone is going to flip out when he gets killed. Crazy little curveball there.

He's still screwed though, they're going to have to find a way to free him

That's what I'm most excited for. I really think this is going to be the best/most intense season yet.

They've definitely re-energized the series. Very excited to be introduced to the Kingdom next week as well, with King Ezekiel and his tiger. I've been told from comic readers that we're going to love them.
