Browsing YouTube and on my feed was a video of Susanna Hoffs, of The Bangles, playing Hazy Shade of Winter (a Paul Simon song). Decent rhythm player. Forgot how catchy some of their stuff was; Walk Like An Egyptian and Manic Monday are a couple others.

FWIW, “Manic Monday” was written by Prince and was said that he offered it to the Bangles in hopes of wooing Hoffs.

My high school classmate (at BHSN) and friend back when, now world famous Joshua Bell, used to play regularly with Yo-Yo Ma at IU's school of music.

Side note anecdote -- one day Joshua drives up in this new Datsun 280-zx, which was the coolest car back then (80s). I was like how'd you get that? He nonchalantly replied, Oh I won it in a contest. I (and my HS friends) had no idea he was well on his way to becoming world famous.

There was a movie he was in that had Meryl Streep in it where she was violin teacher which is how I got in to violin when I was in the fifth grade.

Pretty cool article and a psychologist's interview on Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon -- 50 years later it's STILL on the Billboard charts, making it the longest-charting album in history.

Such a talent. Saw her at Little Nashville Opry maybe 30 years ago and it was awesome. Not solely the performance, but she was incredibly warm and she told great stories and was just a joy.
