Indiana vs UConn Post Game Thread

Why do you not call a timeout on that last play? Why did Troy not play much at all in the 2nd half? I hate to say it and idk if I believe it but I'd say we got out coached although UCONN played a hell of a game

Two thoughts.

1. Imagine if Vonleh would've played. Different outcome. That's why I don't even consider this a disappointment.

2. I swear, if anyone on this site tries to question Coach Tom Crean's coaching ability, I'm going to be so angry. He is a great coach. He drew up a great play for Troy. Only fault is not using the last timeout.

Don't even try.

Hope we can learn from this, lucky it was even close tbh. Big missed opportunity. Vonleh didn't do anything tonight, jeremy was his usual self, hope he gets his sh!t together eventually. We really gotta learn to grab control of loose balls.

IU just seemed to struggle with standing. Movement wasn't great. Team really got caught up in the moment. Hate that we lost, but expected this. I feel sorry for Evansville.

Props to UConn for a hard fought game.

THE SEASON IS OVER!!!!!!!!!!! EVERYONE RUN FOR THE HILLS!!!!!!!!

But in all seriousness I think we know what we could have done better. The turnovers and overall lack of fluidity of the offense in the first half really hurt us. It was better to an extent in the second half, but 17 turnovers in a game that ends in regulation is not good. DD gave us good minutes off the bench tonight, Evan gave us good production, though wasn't overly fond of his defense tonight. Ugh, Napier killed us

Two thoughts.

1. Why did Tayler Wayer not travel instead of Jeremy?

2. Why did Johnny Marlin not start for Jeremy?

Yes we would have done so much better having two walk ons playing instead of JH...........

Fill us in on where we were out coached and the players were not out played...

Here is a fact that proves it all.....

Jeremy's Turnovers: maybe all 17 of them

Johnny's Turnovers: 0

Questionable substitution patter by Crean by not putting in Marlin since these facts prove he is better.

This is a bullet point kind of game...

  • We played like absolute Crap...  Almost beat the #18 team in the country
  • Played 100% of this game without our best player...  Almost beat the #18 team in the country
  • 17 Turnovers...  Almost beat the #18 team in the country
  • Outside of Devin Davis (7pts, 7reb), the freshman class didn't show up...  Almost beat the #18 team in the country
  • Shabazz Napier was C-L-U-T-C-H...  Almost beat the #18 team in the country
  • 2 turnovers in the last 68 seconds of the game...  Almost beat the #18 team in the country

Disappointing outcome? Yes.

Disappoints Game? No.

This team will learn so much from this game that will carry forward throughout the rest of the season.  Yes I would have loved for us to pull out the victory, but it wasn't meant to be tonight.  For as bad as we played, we hung in there and went blow for blow with a quality basketball team.  We essentially just watched a Sweet 16 game that was hard fought and a ridiculous defensive effort by both squads.

Nothing to hang our heads about on this game.  This game will help us vs Syracuse.

Johnny Marlin has not had a turnover in his entire IU career!  Move over Zeke, Cheaney, and Alford, Johnny is the greatest of all time!

............ I don't even know how to respond to post like this. Did JH play all that well, no. He had some good plays, but throwing one guy under the bus like this is beyond ridiculous. Yogi continued to shoot jump shots even though he wasn't hitting them. Yogi  also had 4 turnovers, as did Noah. In general we didn't play well. This isn't all on JH
