OT: Kentucky's Hardest Opponent is... Kentucky???

Recommended Posts

Popular Kentucky site Kentucky Sports Radio posted an article saying Kentucky's hardest / most talented team they will face all season is Kentucky's Second Team....

You seriously can't make this up. So UK has already played their toughest opponent, they've got that going for themselves. Hopefully they won't get burnt out playing that tough competition all year long in practice.

Why do they make it so easy to hate them?

And they wonder why they get called the dumbest fan base. Clearly Russ Smith only being a 3 star and not a McDonald's all American means all of Kentucky's bench is better.

I’m kind of excited.  I really hate UK but if they have the two best teams combined into one roster than I think it’s perfectly reasonable to expect (1) an undefeated season (2) obviously capped off by a championship, (3) with few if any close games and (4) general agreement come April that we’ve witnessed the best team of all time, or at least one of the top 2-3.

And that’s not to mention the very high likelihood that draft day next year should surpass the previously proclaimed greatest day in UK history by a long shot.

I may not like it, but at least I’ll be around to witness it.

I think the ONLY thing that is not a given at this point is the question of where UK’s third string would rank as a stand-alone team.  Top 5, 10 or (gulp, surely not so low) 25?

Was able to watch most of the MSU exhibition on BTN earlier and there's no way the 2nd unit in Lexington is better than the starting 5 at MSU. Gary Harris is the best 2-guard in the country and Appling and Payne look ready to go. This early season schedule for college basketball will bless us with the chance to watch UK find out the truth. So many good games that have the top ranked teams beating each other up while our young Hoosiers get settled in and prepare for some cuse revenge.

I hope more than anything that you are right... Syracuse still haunts my dreams. I don't know if I'm more scared to watch that game, or more scared to be on these boards if things don't turn out well. That would be HORRIBLE, and it would 100% get U-G-L-Y around Hoosier Nation with people calling for Crean's head. (Not fired, just calling for his head in general...)
