  • Lebowski changed the title to (2027) ATH Brady Scott to Indiana

Will be playing Safety. Looks like he has an OV at Iowa coming up this weekend? Let's hope he signs with IUFB and plays ball in the 812. Side note, he comes from a solid program where a lot of his teammates are getting D1 offers. For example, his QB is a Top 10 recruit commit to VT. So it's safe to say he's probably going to be able to hit the ground running with the speed change he'll see once he puts on the cream and crimson.

Even with flips an expected part of recruiting, one would hope that he will not take an OV to Iowa the week after committing. Otherwise, why not just wait until June 10th-ish to commit somewhere?

Exactly what i was thinking.  Why commit if you want to visit other schools?  This is the part of me that continues to think players use IU for other offers or more money from said other offers.  I understand this is a part of the process with flipping commits but realistically speaking I just don't get why anyone commits before the deadline if they want to just continue fielding offers until they get the most enticing or biggest bag.  Just my opinion ofcourse.

I know this has been said on here before, but college football recruitment is a completely different animal compared to every other college sport. Flips/decommitments happen all the time.

Now that they are getting paid it's really no different than any of us taking a higher paying gig by using leverage to get the job. The vast majority of us that are currently employed typically accept a job from a different company with the expectation of a pay raise. Lateral moves happen and even pay decrease happen, but that's not the norm. This is no different. If Iowa thinks his value is worth more than what IUFB is offering and, most importantly, he thinks it'll benefit his personal growth to play/work in Iowa City instead of Bloomington than that's his career decision. Right now, he thinks IUFB is his best option. Let's hope that sticks after his visit(s)/offer(s).

For me, the door always opens when opportunity knocks. I would think it's the same for these recruits.

Using the employment comparison, if someone has job interviews with multiple companies arranged and fully accepts/announces the acceptance of a job offer from one company, that person does not go on the subsequent job interviews the next week.

Here’s something I am wondering. It used to be that when OSU or Alabama offered a 3 star they would get a bump to 4 star.

After Cig and teams evacuation of talent do our 3 stars start to get the same treatment?

This literally happened to me professionally. I accepted/announced (didn't sign a contract) a job offer and let the competing company know that I wanted to cancel my subsequent job interview because that's the professional thing to do. The competing company asked why/where I took the job which led to an on the fly interview. I've been with the 'competing' company for over a decade now. It happens all the time, especially if you have a resume that is desired.

Most likely. I've seen it happen with a couple of recruits already.

For some background: folks say IU/Cig tends to stick to the offers they make — as in they don’t want to get in bidding wars and overpay for high school kids.  Makes sense, most HS kids won’t contribute for a few years.  I assume there are exceptions of course — we all know who they may be.

So, other schools may flip some of our guys here and there with big offers.  If so, I kinda don’t mind much, it’s a signal they don’t see the big picture here and also paying up to keep them committed is a poor ROI.

And, IU flips some guys our direction too.  It’s all in the game!
