BA47591 Posted July 20, 2025 Posted July 20, 2025 One of my favorites in the 27 class. He's only gotten better as his body matures. Quote

Not that you didn’t know he was good, but he’s a really fun watch. Strong frame, particularly lower body. Not very vertically explosive but otherwise a very good athlete. Really fluid. Can move his feet and change direction like a smaller kid. As a scorer he plays a pretty traditional post game with the exception that he can really pass. I mean, really pass. Made 1 where he caught it with his back to the basket in the right mid post, felt a double coming from the top, spun to the baseline and fired a laser to the left corner for a 3. Not many HS bigs making that one. Watched it a couple of times. Found a couple of cutters in very small windows. Looks like a very quick processor for a big kid. Will definitely keep paying attention. Class of '66 Old Fart 1 Quote

Yeah there’s a fair bit of that, though it looks different because Wabbington looks like an athlete and Queen looks like Queen. But a lot of what’s getting done is pretty similar. Side note: this game speaks to what a phenom Koa Peat was in HS. He won either 2 or 3 state championships there and 1st year without him they lost this one at home by 30 and Sunnyslope pulled their starters in the 3rd. BtownStrength and Stuhoo 2 Quote

Are/were you a HS coach? Appreciate your perspectives and envious of the time you get to watch so many games. Quote

Got out of it and into normal life late 90’s and strictly a hobby since then. But the tools available are so good and readily accessible now and combined with this little spot to scribble my thoughts that it kind of feeds my addiction because I absolutely love it. Demo Posted January 3 Posted January 3 Funny little coincidence. I’m watching this game right now and this little highlight reel came across my feed. Nice short summary of his pretty rare level of skill. The 2nd clip here, a behind the back pocket pass hitting a cutter perfectly is kind of nuts. Class of '66 Old Fart 1 Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted January 4 Author Posted January 4 61-59 win over Wheeler (GA) in the championship game of the Hoophall West Classic. 23p, 11r, 3a, 0s, 1b, 4t. 2-2 on 3s and 5-5 FT. I think we'd be quite happy to see him playing regularly in SSAH. Don't know how long the game link might be available for anyone interested. Demo 1 Quote
