NCAA Grants Waiver for WCC Leading Scorer Malik Thomas, Expected to Transfer to Top Program

 

Starting to see some waivers by the NCAA.  How does this compare to Goode and or Leal?

He fits the criteria that's already been laid out by the NCAA. Those two still don't.

Does it still apply if there was no injury?  I don't follow the criteria, so I have no clue.

I have no idea. But he only played 9 games and they were all at the beginning of the year.

No they weren't. He played in games 1,3,4,5,7,9,18,19,26

He played 18 total mins that year lol

Goode played 139 mins the year he wants back, Leal played 24 total mins. 

I'd prefer they use total mins played, honestly, instead of games.

I could see that, but I also think there should be some differentiation between injury and non-injury games.

Didn’t look into the details of this but there’s been more and more granted recently with each day passing. I’d almost be surprised if we didn’t get see Leal and Goode approved soon https://x.com/tiptonedits/status/1920542372208758984?s=46

I never understand why this process takes so long. Seems like they would have a system in place to make the decision for them. Like do they investigate ie interview doctors and such or what are they doing that take so long to approve or not?

Always have wondered this. With how long it takes, I’m sure they do

Does a board of people get together once a week and discuss just a handful of these cases or something?  As slow as they are at getting to them, it makes you wonder if that is the case.

I think this is closer to the truth. Just your garden variety bureaucracy that’s accountable to no one.  
 

What’s the NCAA’s incentive to hurry? Because some message board fans might get mad?

Well, yeah, we are fanatics who want to know yesterday.  LOL.  I am going back to watch the Superman trailer about 10 more times hoping one of them will be announced soon.

I see Mike is still listing Goode and Leal although technically they're no longer on the roster or scholarship.  And 13 is the magic number to not go over to avoid revenue sharing monetary penalties.
