IUWBB vs Oregon - Thursday, 03.06.25 @ Noon on BTN

Recommended Posts

First game winner was the team that played the least worse…. a game that IU Ladies got out played physically squandering a lead like run out of gas in the end on west coast visit.  Second game was a win vs Washington.

IU Ladies should win this game by more than a couple points.

Not sure how important it is, but the IU women have 4 quad 1 wins (20th in the country!) while the Oregon women have 3 quad 1 wins (23rd in the country).  So I have to think both IU and Oregon are safely in the women's NCAA tournament.  Creme has both of us in the "last 4 bye" category.  He really likes the Big10, has 13 BIg10 teams in the tournament.
For point of reference, the IU men also have 4 quad wins, but that is only 38th in the men's quad 1 win "rankings."  So they better beat Ohio State!
I like the IU women's chances tomorrow, but over the years I'd have to say the tournament has not been real kind to us.

The women have slightly better metrics for one reason: Their performance in the Bahamas relative to the men. The women got two Quad one wins vs. NCAA Tournament teams in Baylor who is a borderline host and projected 5 seed. Columbia is a projected 10 seed and should get in at-large whether they win their conference or not.

The men got one borderline quad two win against Providence who is nowhere near the NCAA Tournament. Just goes to show that while these holiday tournaments might seem like they are early, a team's performance in them can make all the difference in the world when it comes to making March Madness and seeding.
