Class of '66 Old Fart Posted February 28 Posted February 28 Regular season finale in West Laffy. We crushed them in Bloomington 2 weeks ago but certainly don't expect a repeat on Sunday. We've got to put the loss to Maryland behind us and get the win to help our seed positions in the BTT and the NCAA tournaments. PUke (10-18) (3-14) and just 8-8 in Mackey is not a good team and the best way for them to salvage their season would be to end it with a win over IU. Our seniors went out on a sour note in SSAH and a win over PUke in Mackey would be a great way to get that bad taste out of their mouths. Radio Live Stats GloryDays and mamasa 2 Quote

Losing to Maryland in a quad one game was not changing much in terms of seeding or outlook. Losing to Purdue on other hand and taking that quad four loss would put March Madness hopes very tenuous. Take care of Boilers and you leave no doubt you will be in March Madness. That was the case win or lose to Maryland. This win is much more important. It sucks to lose on senior night but beating the Terps was far from a must win. This one on Sunday is a can't lose. Class of '66 Old Fart and GloryDays 2 Quote
TTT Posted February 28 Posted February 28 This is going to be a tough game depending on how well IU Ladies handle what Purdue will try to be physical and rebound with IU and make shots vs IU Ladies staying focused on what makes them at their best. Quote

I take it you have not watched Purdue? They are slow as molasses getting up the court and less athletic then IU. If IU can get out in transition with their superior speed this should be a double digits win. The way this would be tough is if shots don't fall from long range although if Indiana can get out and run it may not matter. Class of '66 Old Fart 1 Quote
TheWatShot Posted March 1 Posted March 1 Yeah, spare me the clichés about rivalry games and whatnot, if we struggle on Sunday we don't deserve a tourney bid. Purdue is terrible. We won't be up 20-2 this time but it shouldn't be close, either. Aaron, Class of '66 Old Fart and GloryDays 3 Quote

LamarCheeks Posted March 2 Posted March 2 Syd follows a pure 3 with a clanky 3 -- but they both count. IU 24-8 late in first. CMM still playing with 2 fouls. Not sure how wise that is. FloridaHoosierGirl 1 Quote

TheWatShot Posted March 2 Posted March 2 There's actually a scenario where we could win today and face Purdue again Wednesday. It's not likely to happen but it would be fun to do this a third time. Quote

Not sure how wise that is. Maybe the theory is to be up by over 30 in the third quarter and then foul trouble just won’t matter. Other theory is to trust the smartest player on the court to not commit a third. Quote
