Let's hope the Hoosier team (12-4) (4-1) that was in Iowa on Sunday is the same team that shows up Thursday vs. Illinois (12-4) (2-3) and 2-3 away from home.  Illinois has 5 players in double figures and a sixth at 9.8 ppg.  As a team they shoot 43% / 29% / 79%.  For the season they average about 7 more rebounds/game than their opponent.  And unless the refs are whistle happy in our favor, we likely won't shoot a lot of free throws.  As a team they only average 15 fouls/game.   And we can't overlook Illinois with USC (16-1) (6-0) in Bloomington on Sunday.

Our last two home games with Illinois both came down to the final minute. We're probably the better team but I don't expect this to be easy.

One note. Makira Cook who has been a designated IU killer is out for the year as is fellow starter Gretchen Dolan. Their rotation is very shallow but still has top players in Indiana's own Kendall Bostic along with Genesis Bryant, Adalia Mackenzie, and Jasmine Brown-Hagger.

This still won't be easy, but the fact that the designated killer Cook is out is a huge help (not that you wish injury on anyone).

That's a relief. She cut us to pieces the last two seasons. I think her career high came against us too.
