This kid was a Heisman dark horse coming into the season. Great athlete. Would be a LOT of fun.

"Once he enters the portal" lol.  What the hell kind of tampering is going on in college football?!

I'm waiting on the All-conference announcements. Once those drop, I'll have a wish list. Regardless, front 5 and front 7 need to be addressed for depth.

For example, someone like Red Murdock, LB out of Buffalo, will more than likely be an all-conference. He's a SO from VA. I wouldn't be surprised if he's caught the eye of Coach Haines.

Eric O'Neil and Khairi Manns out of JMU are other names to keep an eye on.

Those two are in the portal?

Unknown. I was just looking at the JMU players because of the history of the coaching staff.

One consideration with O'Neil & Manns, it looks like they both transferred in for the '24 campaign - not sure how much overlap they had with CCC and Staff.

are we attractive to TEs? Horton didn't have many catches.

Depends on the kid I suppose. Horton didn't have a ton of targets, but was absolutely critical to our offense. But it's a good point.

Horton? Most he had at JMU was 27 or were you saying Cignetti has had TEs with more catches before?

Horton. With a more mobile QB and the different scheme that accompanied, in his junior year at JMU Horton had about 30% more catches (27 vs 20), about 50% more yards (275 vs 182) and 50% more TDs (6 vs 4).

Not gaudy numbers, but Horton isn't exactly the prototype rangy/WR speed TE. He's an elite blocking machine that has the ability to catch a pass. Koziol is a fast, rangy TE that can block.

We can sell the spot with no problem IMO.
