IU is legitimately in there with Sherrell, but MSU is fighting as hard as it can on that one. Still checking on a couple other schools as well on Sherrell, but I know MSU is fighting hard.

That would be 9 spots filled and 4 possible spots to fill.  IMO, you would want to fill the rest with:  one 5, one 4/5 and another 1.

IU has had a zoom with Riley Allenspach (George Mason) who would seem to be an affordable option.  Decent scorer and capable of stepping back and hitting threes (43 of 121, 35.5% in his career).  Has the power 5 size (6'11", 247).  Not a great athlete or rim protector, but if are taking a money ball approach signing the big four (please!), he would seem to be a capable enough cost effective option.

We really need to start looking for more of a rim protector athlete or two. Do we even know if Acimovic is serviceable?  He did not play in any B1G games that I know of. 

Putting all your eggs in one basket will leave you holding the bag. I hope we land Sherrell but Izzo is way more proven with BIGS than our staff so if the $$ similar I can see him going there. Is Duke still in the mix for him?

Reibe could be a serious take for IU. UK seemingly going all in on Rob Wright and Tyran Stokes and also seem to be one of the two likely landing spots for Miikka Muurinnen.

Isn’t BYU after Reibe? I thought I saw that on X. So he’s more of a 4 not true C?  Still need a banger or two to play in the paint even with him. Would be a good pick up regardless.

I would have to assume the Acimovic at least looks serviceable since he was one of only two that were retained.  IN terms not playing in any games, I believe last year the NCAA started a different rule in bball whereas if you played in even just one game up to 30% of all games that you were ineligible for a redshirt unless you were truly injured and rehabilitating.

They are as well. He’s definitely a 5. Sherrell and Reibe would compliment each other well.

Acimovic was REALLY, REALLY bad in the exhibition games.  Not sure what CDD sees in him.

Maybe an end of the bench cheap practice body? That’s discouraging given our need for size. I have no doubt CDD can land guards. We need size and athleticism badly. This staff has got to go out and find it one way or another.

He also apparently thought he should've been getting some of Tarris Reed's minutes, so he'd have to buy the vision of how him and Sherrell fit together. I guess we will find out soon enough

Can’t imagine we’d win a recruiting battle for Sherrill if MSU prioritizes him. But life can be funny and we’ve got $$ and the kid on campus, so clearly we’re in the mix of possibilities.

Assuming we’re working on a $14-$15 mil budget.

I would guess between Sisley, Acimovic + 3 freshman, they have been allocated $1-1.5mil.

$3 mil Burton

$1.5 mil Mustaf

$1.5 mil Harris

$4 mil Sherrell 

Would leave $3-4mil for 3 players assuming you don’t have to pay Sherrell more. Get Reibe for $2mil, Allenspach for $1mil and $500k for Budd Clark and call it a day.

We won the battle against UK for Wilkerson so there’s some history anyway
