Fire Coach Woodson Thread

I think Leal is back based on need. MM is probably 50/50.

Another player I won't name during season is being heavily courted by numerous schools. He isn't super happy with the season and isn't even sure if he is wanted back. Let's just say it would hurt to see him in another jersey

Well ****, you said it's an unexpected guard transfer, so you just described Galloway to a tee.

The only way I would fire a coach is if I knew who I had in the bag to follow him. Going after one guy and scrambling when he turns us down is not the best way to go about hiring a great coach.
It appears that's how we got Woodson and archie also

I don't think mm comes back alot of talk was he was going to only be a one year player regardless of draft stayus.

That's what I'm hearing, his family doesn't want him back, doesn't want him at another school, just wants him to turn pro

Which sucks because it basically guaranteed that any big time recruit who struggled in college, amounts to nothing in the NBA. But no one is going to tell any of these guys that. It's just "you're the next superstar."

I wonder if we can give a good NIL deal to at least make them think it over.  We can't touch the NBA but if he doesn't get good offers then I hope he stays.  No way he'll be drafted in the first couple rounds.

Maybe but if his mind is made up it won't matter. Alot of these guys seem fine going to the G league for awhile

I would have never thought of Galloway being in the NBA. I always forget there are pro teams in other countries that you can make a good living with

If that is who he is talking about then Rabby explains it quite differently. He says that Galloway has gone to the staff and said he would be happy coming off the bench next year, just go out and get me some good guards to play with.

So we'll see what happens. A lot of season still left to go

Rabby and I likely got our info from opposite sides of the relationship, but I had my convo many weeks ago. Rabby's is likely more recent.  Ultimately, I think if things play out the right way he'll be back, but things seem to be teetering atm more than we would like. The way the season has developed doesn't just have the fans upset. You are starting to see it in the body language of some players too. Play back the OSU game and look at how dejected Gunn looks throughout. Some parents are starting to voice frustrations publicly as well which we are all too familiar with in past tenures. Finishing the season strong will be the best antidote.

Gunn has been that way most of the season. He pouts way too early. I would have never put him back in the 2nd half against OSU. He very rarely looks into the huddle when he is not in the game. Dude needs to go to the MAC and play all he wants

Wait why?

Because they think this is just a stepping stone for the NBA. They think he is ready to be a pro, not in college. He needs to play basketball 24/7 and not worry about classes and things like that

You can't name the player? Be real, yes you can.

If it's CJ Gunn I'm going to laugh.

So is it TG?

Who cares if Gunn is upset? Dude should be playing at Ball St.

To each their own, I guess.  Kid should have been ranked in the 60s or 70s though. I highly question the parents of that's still true after the season.

ISP is being clear ( to me at least, and I think to Chris) that he is referring to Gallo.

If this season really slides from here on out, I could even see Gallo pull the seldom attempted "reverse Jimmy Chitwood."

"If Coach stays, I go."

This is like 7th grade aau talk.  We're losing, I'm leaving, my dad is mad, he'll even tweet about it.

Meh.. that kind of stuff isn't for me.  I don't believe Trey Galloway and his father operate like that, especially in season.
