Surprising.

I find this surprising as well.  I expect IU to win the rest of our home games.  Vegas must really be down on us to have us a betting underdog at home.

Good Lord. How about imagining running actions for him outside to put real scoring out there abd open up the floor

Yup, but at this point I'll take whatever actions for the kid I can get. The high school games of his I watched they played him in the mid-post a few times a game. He liked to face up with a jab step, take a quick bounce either way and then shoot a little 10-12 footer. Given what they're clearly telling him now, I assume now he'd face up and drive it.

You think we beat both northwestern and nebraska at home? I would say those are toss up games

It saddens me that our program has fallen so far that we don't consider home games against Northwestern and Nebraska automatic wins. IMO we should win all of our home games with the possible exception being against top 5 teams in the nation.  Even in those games, we should be as competitive as hell.  We must hold our team and coach to this standard.

Sandfort will be the one to torch us! Also Perkins!

I was begging us to offer Perkins when he was at Lawrence North. Another non-offered Indiana kid who will give us the business..........

To be fair....its easy to say that but Purdue didn't offer either, and most will say they have done a good job with in-state kids (rather we like it or not)..He has just progressed better than some thought.

I know they didn’t. To be extra fair…. I know the kid. So there might’ve been some bias both then and now. :)

you gotta be kidding me? I need to know if you are serious

Dead serious, if we go small and have him at 4 with Reneau if both can play outside and inside it will make it hard to defend us. I have my complaints with Woodson but dome if you will find anything to ***** at

What is wrong with this. It helps having players that are versatile

With Mack playing mostly at the three, he is guarded by a lot of guys four or five inches shorter than he is. If that's a positive matchup for IU? I can see the value in inverting the offense to pull Ware and Malik outside and put Mack in the post.

For instance,

  • I'd rather have Mack with a post catch against Loyer than have KelEl with a post catch against Edey.
  • I'd rather have Mack with a post catch against Akins than Ware with a post catch against Sissoko.
  • I'd rather have Mack with a post catch against Berry than Ware with a post catch against Nicholson.

That having been said, Mailk is always our best option for post touches, but Malik doubled is sometimes not awesome, and Mack likely would not draw a double.

If we can get all 5 guys to play in the pain, we would be unstoppable. You guard everyone if they're all in the lane. DWS

I guess where I am at with it, is Mack is supposed to be a shooter. We already have two big men, why clog the lane up more. Also the "down the stretch" makes no sense. This whole board has complained and cried that we haven't created or ran any sets for Mack, so now everyone is ok with putting him in the post. I know we haven't put up a ton of 3's this year, but it kind of defeats the purpose in the long run if you are going to recruit guys that are shooters and put them in the post.
