We don’t have a JHS to step in this year and his value will be felt when missing this time. 

Cupps will be solid in time but his lack of burst and ability to get to the rim hurts, not to mention he doesn't look to shoot the ball at all at this point.

Anyone hearing anything about Jakai? I feel like we would need him. Lastly, has woody given up on CJ? I feel as he went with leal in 2nd half last night and not Cj says something

On a postgame podcast Todd Leary said he saw Newton in an air cast not too long ago which made him think he won’t play at all this year. I have no idea if he is right but he has been around enough basketball, and  hoops injuries, to make me think Newton probably won’t contribute this year.

They have played 6 games. He started the first two, came off the bench the next two and has started the last two (which makes me think he will start vs IU.).

He plays just under 20 minutes per game, is averaging 5.8 points a game, shooting 46% from the field, 14% from the three (1-7), and in 6 games has a total of 5 assists vs 9 turnovers.

Even if he was to get healthy enough to play, I would think his lack of conditioning as well as full speed practice would keep him on the bench anyways. He is a freshman and we know that it can take some adjustment so having to have that adjustment with lack of conditioning late in the season would be very rough.

I doubt he plays this year but if he does it will probably be from the end of the bench.

Probably a wise assumption.  There's a video of him at pre-game warm-ups within the past 2 weeks one-hopping jump shots and not putting weight on his left leg as he landed.

Maryland has doubled Rider's score in the first half. 46 - 20 with 4:20 remaining.  Geronimo has shot 5-5 and has 13 points.

Last night (Tuesday) Maryland 103 vs Rider 76.  Jordan Geronimo didn't miss any of his six field goals and was 3 of 5 from the free-throw line for 15 points for Maryland (4-3).

That's not the IU way. Altough i'd imagine it means nothing catastrophic.

I'll guess he's listed as questionable on the availability report when it comes out but doesn't necessarily mean he'll play.

Actually, I do understand the silence.  I wasn't looking for rumors or the fall-back position of Big Ten universities.

I was looking for someone on campus that had seen Xavier very recently.  It is completely understandable if there is no answer to my question.  No answer or no update is just that.  No more.
