Class of '66 Old Fart

2027 General Recruiting Thread (IUBB)

Might as well get it started sooner rather than later and this is a name I'm sure we'll hear more of in the next couple of years.

Jaylan Mitchell attends Evansville Reitz HS and played up for Bradley Beal Elite on the EYBL circuit and already has offers to Illinois and Arizona State.  The 6'6 guard avg'd 13.5 ppg & 5.2 rpg. Had a great Peach Jam in July and had 20 or more in 2 of 5 games. 40% 3pt %.

Another '27 name we'll likely hear more of in the future is Kenneth Lampley III from Indianapolis Tindley HS.

Wing Kenneth Lampley III on being selected to the @CP3RisingStars National Camp, TOP 20 All-Star game.  Lampley III also showed out at the @dizzyruns ProAm & @prepballstars EPO this summer.

Don’t bring up topic yet. I’m feeling old.

Yeah, the ‘23 kids were the first class younger than our youngest daughter. The first time I realized that it felt just a little bit gross.

I hope for everyone’s sake CJ makes that leap this year.  His measurables and potential are the  real deal.  He needs to lock in at 100% on D with his body positioning Vs relying on his length and reaching.  Then better shot selection on O.  Set your feet, make it simple.

First ever '27 rankings from ESPN.  #4 Jaylan Mitchell attends Reitz Memorial HS in Evansville.

Never seen a second of him, but a friend coaches 15U for Bradley Beal Elite and coached Mitchell, who played up last year. Loves, loves, LOVES him. Apparently right now he’s something like 6’7”, but Terry thinks he has a chance to end up as a 6’9” primary facilitator. His vision and instincts are that good.
