Schifino's three point shot looks better than I thought it would.

I’m pretty skeptical of true frosh being winning players filling an actual need. He looks like the real deal, tho. He’ll still look like a freshman at times in conference play, but I’m impressed with his level of play.

That's a product of playing at a school like Montverde.  High caliber players going against similar high caliber players in every practice and in virtually every game they play.  Most public schools are lucky if they have 1 high caliber player and the practice sessions and game schedules pale in comparison to a Montverde, et. al.  I'm not knocking public schools it's just the way it is.

I think it helps. But I think it’s mainly a function of physical development and basketball IQ/skills. Eric Gordon, Yogi, Damon Bailey, etc… all came out of the Indiana basketball system and were ready as frosh to contribute. Hanner Perea and Peter Jurkin came out of elite prep schools and were disappointing. Even a guy like Oladipo wasn’t  ready as a frosh despite playing with D1 guys every day.

I definitely see your angle though, and imagine the high level of competition benefited JHS quite a bit.
