What college team(s) impress you?

I thought this was about watching and enjoying aesthetically pleasing teams but I keep seeing Wisconsin mentioned? I find them very unpleasant to watch (Johnny Davis excepted) unless they’re getting thumped

Agree. They’ve been good, not great since Ryan left, mainly because Gard can’t develop bigs like Ryan. I do enjoy Johnny Davis though. He might be the most slept on player in the country still somehow.

For me it’d be Gonzaga. They rotate well and play above their talent level on D. They have great execution on offense. It’s probably no coincidence that they are built on 3 and 4 year players. It’ll be interesting to see how Few adjusts now that they are recruiting 1 and done players.

I think they'll be fine as long as the culture changes the player and the player doesn't change the culture. Didn't some talking head mention that you couldn't have a single one and done and do well or something? They seemed to do pretty well last season with only one.

Good question. When I think about programs I admire, where I go is to coaches I admire. Don’t care much about style of play, more about execution and the flexibility they’ve created within their systems.
Off the top of my head:

Randy Bennett

Bob Mckillop

Jay Wright

Porter Moser

Wes Miller

Matt Painter

Craig Smith

Teams that the whole is more than the sum of the parts impress me.  Those that share the ball to make others look good.  High assist rates and good team defense are certainly indicators.

They seem to have very strong ball handlers.  They have initiators that have great court vision and take advantage of situations and matchups.   They do the extra work in screening, thinking, rebounding and blocking out.  When the tide turns against them, they still try to do the right things.

Good sportsmanship is also part of it. Both on court and off.  They pursue an education. Shows, in part, that they are becoming adults and productive members of society...respecting others and themselves.

One would hope that they win a few more than one would expect.  But that does not always happen.

Of course, a great coach is a requirement.

Davidson offense is about as good as it gets to watch.   Anytime Davidson plays I definitely put them on one of the main TVs.

Watching Zags grow into a powerhouse has been fun to watch.  Few is a really good basketball coach

I watch Kansas mostly to watch Self coach.   He is just one heck of a basketball coach that runs great sets and especially plays out of timeouts.   He has single handily won multiple games this year by doing this.
Not this year but I usually enjoy watching Virginia play defense.   Something to be said about holding high major programs to under 50 points on a regular basis.

This year Ohio, Chattanooga, South Dakota St, Drake and Wyoming are teams that I will make sure are on one of the TVs if they are playing.

I like all of those teams except Drake.  What do you see from Drake that you like?  I'm just seeing a pretty good mid con, but nothing that makes me want to watch them.

Probably carry over from last years team.  I like their coach and mostly I like the race in the  MVC and I think I could of added any of the top 4 MVC teams
